My Thinkpad X1 Carbon 6th gen. is back to new!

I thought my trackpoint was failing - I had to use significant force to move the cursor, but it was just the nub. After replacing the nub with this product, it works like new, and I had to turn down the sensitivity quite a bit.One suggestion: The seller should 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 the fact that it works on an X1 Carbon 6th gen, not just the 4th gen as this Amazon webpage says. Fortunately for me, another review did say that this product was compatible with his X1 6th gen. Some reviewers have said that this nub is smaller than the original. That's true, but the difference is negligible, a fraction of a millimeter. I find the new nub is very easy to use, fully functional and comfortable. Also, its height is proper, so it doesn't rub on the screen when I close the lid.

Fits Perfectly, Much, Much Better

My trackpoint had collapsed and was constantly coming off after about 18 months use of my x1 Yoga. I ordered the first set I found and the square hole was much too large. You need to look at the supported model numbers. Yoga/X1 take the small nibs, older Lenovo and T-series take larger. My laptop had developed a very unresponsive cursor, often getting stuck travelling to one side of the screen. I boot the same machine to Windows and linux and the problem occurred on both platforms, so not a software glitch. Also, the cursor would sometimes be very unresponsive and I had habituated myself to press more forcefully and, so now, the trackpoint is actually too responsive. i will adjust quickly. This product looks, feels and operates as well or better than my recollection of the original on first installation. It's exactly what I was looking for and I have a few extra. I love the Yoga, so I will use it as long as I can keep it running, hopefully well after my next upgrade. The extra trackpoints won't go to waste.

Worked Geart for my ThinkPad X1 Yoga

These worked perfectly for my Thinkpad Yoga X1. They are a good value. I used one to replace my old cap and still have 2 more ... good for another 8 years! Now that the old one is replaced, the new one made the trackpoint extra responsive. I had to adjust the speed down quite a bit. It make things so much better. Also, it was easy to install. See the photos I've added. The old one is on the right in each picture.

Fits my Thinkpad...it's important to look carefully and match your computer model.

Works effectively as described. Couldn't believe that a tiny track point cap would costs over $3.00 each, but these fit well and work so I'm satisfied. Hopefully, it will last a few years.

Fantastic!

This was the best ten buck I've ever spent! For the past 6 months I've been fighting with the trackpoint on my Lenovo carbon X1 laptop as the cursor was getting slower and slower, and I kept setting the mouse pointer speed faster and faster to compensate. Finally it wouldn't go any faster and I was having to use a whole lot of force to get the mouse to move at a decent speed, which also caused the auto-centering function of the mouse driver to keep the pointer moving after I released it, which was very frustrating.Although I knew the nubs had mostly worn off of the cap I didn't think that those missing was enough to cause the issue, which perhaps they weren't. In any event I saw something on a support website about this problem and that replacing the cap would fix it. I was a bit skeptical that replacing the cap would fix it, but I decided that for ten bucks I'd take the chance.Well, after replacing the cap the pointer moved so fast that I could barely see it because I had the pointer speed still set to maximum. After setting it to about 40% everything was perfect. The pointer moved with great speed and precision, and I needed only a tiny bit of force on the cap to cause movement, which ended the tendency for the pointer to keep moving after I let go. I admit to being amazed.I do think that what must be happening to the cap as it gets older, in addition to the nubs wearing off, is that either the rubber is getting stiffer, or wear is occurring in the cutout on the underside of the cap that goes over the post on the keyboard, either one of which I guess could result in the post not reacting as well to pressure exerted on the cap by your finger.Bottom line is that if you are having problems with your pointer moving slower and slower over time and requiring more and more pressure on the trackpoint to move the pointer, a worn cap is more than likely the problem. The old cap pops right off with a flat bladed screwdriver and you just line up and press in place the new one. It takes 15 seconds at the most.

Appear to be OEM and work great.

This does appear to be identical to the OEM part. It fits perfectly, and it’s easy to use.

works but much smaller

feels good, fits the tiny square and makes the cursor move very nicely now. But it is definitely smaller than the original. Maybe I misread something as this is installed on a ThinkPad T460s.
