This book largely covers information from the CPT manual but is focused largely on describing procedures rather than how to code them accurately. The ICD-10-CM only gets THREE pages in this study guide. Absolutely nothing is said about special coding guidelines for each of its separate chapters. I don't think this book's author has ever seen a coding book in-person. The single paragraph on external cause codes leaves out basically everything you would need to know about how to code an external cause of injury.I give it 2 stars based purely the design of the book as a study guide (just not for the CPC Exam) because 2 of the 4 exams are in the book and the other two can be accessed and taken online by using the QR code after the paper tests. They also have web links in the book for documents of medical prefixes, roots, and suffixes that I do think can be helpful for the exam. The book itself just had a lot of vague filler.

Really comprehensive review and sample tests and quizzes are great. Definitely huge help for CPC prep.

This CPT study guide 2024-2025 covers main topics. It is very concise, straightforward, and informative. Super easy to read. Half of the book is information to learn and the other half contains two practice tests with results at the end. The other two practice tests are available online. It comes with bonuses for study support. Each chapter comes with an online quiz. It is a very good book for the CPT exam and career.

This is the absolute best study guide I’ve found for CPC. It has practice exams inside & online to take. Quizzes with each chapter. The way things are explained make it’s easily understandable.

This book is advertised as having four full length practice tests but only has two. What a rip off.
