Absolutely Incredible!

I've owned more earbuds than I care to remember since the early 2000s. Starting with a pair of Sony MDR-EX71SLBs, I've tried them all from the likes of Sennheiser, JVC, Shure, Skull Candy, Betron and SoundMagic wired earbuds, to your more modern wireless options (see below). I can quite honestly say, these are the best earbuds I've ever heard.I'm in my early 50s and my hearing's not what it used to be. I'm not sure if this is the reason I steer clear of the v-shaped, bass-heavy sound that seems so popular these days, in favour of a more balanced, detailed sound. My go to headphones in recent times have been the Sennheiser TWM3, which I've been very happy with. It's fairly common knowledge the TWM3 have reliability issues and this was the only thing that marred my experience of them (although top marks to Sennheiser for sorting it). However, I can safely say, the Oppo ENCO X2s put the TWM3's to shame.I've also tried Apple's Air Pods Pro 2s and the Technics EAH-AZ60M2. Neither blew me away or were worthy replacements for my TWM3s; in the former's case I was left thoroughly underwhelmed. I even tried the Denon PerL Pros which were excellent - but at £300 you'd expect them to be. I can quite honestly say the Oppo's are on par with the Denons. This is some achievement by Oppo considering I picked them up for less than a third of the Denon's RRP.So what's so good about them? I'm no audiophile and I'm loathe to use all that jargon they throw about, but what you get with the Oppo's is an incredibly balanced, detailed and textured sound, the likes of which I don't think I've heard before in an earbud. I find myself listening to songs I've heard hundreds of times before and hearing detail previous headphones failed to picked out. The imaging and instrument separation is also phenomenal - again, the best I've ever heard. Vocals are incredibly clear and I find myself with newfound appreciation of background vocals I'd never heard before. How do they do it? Well, I'm guessing it has something to do with the hearing test feature in the Hey Melody app. The Denon app did something similar where they earbud analyses your hearing and adjusts the sounds accordingly. This function on the Oppo's works so, so well.Build quality is excellent. The case has a lovely tactile feel to it and is stunning in black. The buds themselves have a quality feel to them and the fit is comfortable. The only downside is the eartips are a bit tricky to replace. I managed it eventually though.Overall, these are stunning for the price (I paid £80). To put that into context, I prefer them over my £220 TWM 3s, the £300 Denon PerL Pros and (easily) over Apple's £220 APP2s.I should add that noise cancelling and transparency are not top of my list of priorities. They seem to work ok, but that's not the reason I bought these. I bought them - and am judging them - purely on their sound.I cannot recommend these highly enough.

Amazing 5*

My first True Wireless headphones. I have a pair of Oppo PM2s overhead headphones and switching to these I thought we be a big drop in quality. But no they are amazing, bass is a little lacking but that’s not a big issue for me as I prefer a balanced sound. Still waiting to see what the catch is gunna be, these sound better than Apples in ear headphones and at a quarter of the price! (£70 paid)

Best ear phone

Very good head earphones , remember to have high Res mode and LDAC option turned on to experience the true HD audio, otherwise you can hear some tiny bit of static, the beats are loud and punchy , noise cancelling is so good on this earphone ,when you play white noise with noise cancelling on ,you can literally hear nothing from around you , though for these high level settings to be turned on you do need a very good phone. Overall the music output is crisp and clear ,good bass, good beats and good noise cancelling ,highly recommend

Disappointed After 1 Year of Use

It worked fine for about a year — sound quality was decent, but the battery backup was never great.Unfortunately, just two days after my 1-year warranty expired, one side of the earbud completely stopped working.Very disappointed. I expected better reliability for the price.Won’t be buying OPPO products again.

Almost unbelievably good sound for the cost

I've been a bit of an IEM (and headphone) connoisseur for 20+ years, and have used the X2s for over a year now. I've tried and/or own a wide range of True Wireless IEMs, including all the standards (Apple, Sony, Senn etc.). And although I don't consider myself an "audiophile", I know what a good set of phones sound like. The Oppo X2s have an inredible sound, notably surpassing much more expensive wireless earbuds. Throwing around a bit of jargon, I'd say out of the box they lean slghtly towards accurate without being overly fatiguing. They're a bit mid-foward, but again very well balanced on all ends. Bass is detailed and on point. Clarity and separation are exceptional, so much so I kept thinking "how can buds this small be this good?". As other reviews have stated, these are the only wireless buds I've had where I can notably hear deficiencies in source: you really need FLACs or at the least 320kbps to stretch their legs.As for features, they do the job as well as most other "high-end" wireless buds. The squeeze controls are tactile and better than other bud's touch controls which I always accidentally hit. Battery life is good, I get about 7 hours with NC on. The fit with the standard tips are ok, but these are worth buying better tips for. The ANC is decent, but the only real area where they're surpassed by others.I'd say these buds are still well worth the money in 2024 (probably why "X3s" haven't been released). And if you put sound quality over all else, these are a no brainer in this price range.

Amazing sound quality for the price

I've tried many very expensive TWEs (Bang and Olsen, Sony, SH, etc). Comfort wise and sound wise - X2 are very hard to beat. Highly recommend. Especially with the wireless charging and multi point (something that Bose is not supporting at 300 quid..)
