Great product
Just as advertised. Rugged. Very sharp edge when it arrived, normally I sharpen knives as soon as I get them.

Solid marlinspike with a very sharp accompanying blade
So far so good, this is a true rigging tool, the spike is big, so you’ll need to learn some finesse for finer tasks, but it will certainly ferret out the most stubborn of knots. Good quality sheath, I don’t care for the folding style, I wear a belt knife most days and this has since replaced it as the knife is very well made and came shaving sharp. I tuned it up as I’m won to do, but that’s just me. I have a slight concern with the knife having a shackle key cut into the blade, but so far so good, even undoing a rusted stuck turnbuckle. Unless I find a catastrophic failure, I’m confident in this being a five star tool for sailors ranchers and general outdoorsmen. Again, the spike is big and not ideal for finer work, but I personally have had no issue using it for bankline nets as well as for roping from horseback. Very underrated and at present a bang up tool.

definitely a keeper
This exceeds by far its closest competitor. value for price one could get three of this model for the prices of its closest competitor. cannot say about the steel. There is as much crappy export German steel as good, This one seem pretty good, sharpens well and retains an edge. The sheath is a little iffy. I think it's going to stretch over time; the knife and spike might get a little loose in the pouch over time; I would water proof it. I would also round the tip of the spike a little so it would slip between the cordage fibers without breaking them (if you're doing fancy knot work). Paracord is less a problem. I have a Myerchin (with a spike), but I'm reaching for this one more often.

Good tool, for the price
Good product good sheath the needle might be needed to be replaced. It is not necessarily meant for any trying or undoing serious large ropes.

Beautiful , Great handhold
I would like to find out from the factory. What the chemistry and heat treat and hardness of the blade is. Just ca'nt cut it up for metalugy. I bought this to beat on it with a hammer , but it is too beautiful to leave in the salty toolbox One thing is it is curious, there is a square cut out just behind the sharpened edge. What is that for?

Great bargain
I have the more expensive knife this one is clearly based on, but I picked this up as a beater. I am really impressed with the quality of this knife. The other one has a aerated edge, but the straight edge cuts through rope like butter. I love the wooden handle, and the spike is great for getting knots out around the boat.

Sturdy marlin spike
Rarely a day goes by that the husband doesn't use this knife and marlin spike set. It can always be found on his hip. We live on a boat full-time. The case is very well made and tolerates our salty lifestyle well.
