Better than expected - pleased with purchase
I was initially a little sceptical of this, as the images from Camplux's own website seemed a bit staged and looked photoshopped to hell.I needed this to put a temporary hot water supply in an outbuilding and now I've used it, I have to say I'm actually rather impressed. The build quality is good, the external casing is robust and the connections all seem well engineered. There was slight scuffing to the logo on the front which was a bit disappointing, but to be honest, the unit was pristine in all other respects and it was going to go in a barn, so I couldn't get too precious about it.The supplied anchor bolts are decent quality, and although I haven't had to use them, I have put them aside into my stash of fixings for future use - quite often products are supplied with rubbish fixings which get thrown away, so this is a nice change.Whilst the shower hose is quite short, I wanted to mount the unit at the open edge of the barn, to avoid death by carbon monoxide, but I also wanted the shower further under cover. This was easy enough to do; as the hot water output has a standard hozelock compatible fitting, I just made a 10m section of hose with a hozelock coupling on each end. Sorted. On the subject of the shower head, what I didn't realise from the advert was that the shower-head has a push switch on it, so you can leave the system pressurised and the unit will be dormant until you switch the shower-head on, at which point, the unit detects a pressure drop and ignites. Clever. It also means that I've been able to split the water outlet just before the shower-head and put a normal tap on the other line, so when I open the tap, the same thing happens. Even cleverer.Flow rate is good, and with the ambient temperature at approx 12°C, the shower is very useable. I imagine that as the ambient temperature reduces, I might have to reduce the flow rate a bit but I think it will still be useable. Look out for an update in February. Having an extra 10 metres of hose on the hot water outlet won't help things then..BTW, the D cell batteries for the ignition circuit are NOT supplied, so make sure you get some before you go trekking up into the hills. I've had this up and running for a week now, using it about 5 or 6 times a day, and the igniters are still going strong.Anyway, hope that helps - I'd certainly buy another one.

It actually works
My wife bought a 3kw electric warm water shower for her horses. I was dubious. I was right to be dubious. It was rubbish. This propane powered shower works really well. The gas fires up as you demand water. This foxed me for a moment as I was looking for a Piezoelectric to fire up the system. We have it mounted in a barn, on a piece of MDF with a ceramic tile gorilla glued to it to provide a heat resistant surface in a wooden barn. It is also really nice to have hot water to gently wash mud off dirt bikes. Warm water (and halfway round the heat dial gives pleasant shower temperature with ordinary mains flow) is so much better for getting mud off horses and bikes than cold water. The horses enjoy a warm wash. All in all, a really effective bit of kit which looks like it will be quite efficient on a gas bottle. Just use all the washers - the cold water inlet leaked like a sieve until the second soft washer went in. Took about 20 minutes to set up.

No brainer!
Awesome heater. Very reliable. Powerful red hot shower I had to turn mine down! Cracking shower built better than cheaper ones for not much more money. If you can get this unit to use gas or lpg more efficient than it already does it will be no 1 on the market! Easy!

Good but
Good but the 2 plastic hose connectors are poor quality. Replace with 1/2'' threaded brass house connectors and all is well. Frustratingly the manual shows bread parts but plastic ones were sent

Power of a shower
Shower arrived in 3 days, was quoted 5 to7 so a good start. First thing was I had to change the regulator but I half expected that. I mounted the shower on the inside of the back door of my campervan so that the flue was clear when the door was swung open. Everything connected up easily with the push fit type hose connectors. I initially used a Whale 16 Litre per minute pump but it was way too powerful so I changed it to a 10 lpm which was much better. It took a while to regulate the temperature, at first it was too hot to hold your hand under even with maximum flow and minimum gas selected on the unit. I turned the gas flow down on the bottle which solved the problem. As others have said the unit is affected by the wind but that was solved by closing the van door halfway while still keeping the flue in open air. I paid ÂŁ199 for the unit and having used it for a week now I would say it was a bargain.

Dangerous, so I binned it
I bought this in May 2023 and had it in storage until early September 2024. I unboxed it and set it up as instructed and found it easy to assemble. It ran fine and I was delighted with it for approximately 5 minutes. Then a huge flame came from the back of the unit. Luckily I was beside it and managed to turn off the gas immediately. I went through all fittings again, making sure they were secure and correct. They were. I tried it again. This time in ran for just over six minutes and the same thing happened. I checked online and discovered that other people had the same problem. I tried it a third time with the gas at its lowest setting and the water at its highest. Again, it went on fire. I binned it as I feel it is a dangerous hazard. It’s well beyond my money back entitlement period so I can only warm others. If I hadn’t been standing next to it, I hate to think what could have happened.
