such an upgrade!
This is such an upgrade from my previous one. I had a Mighty Mule keypad, but it only let me put in 25 codes. I run a mini-storage facility. I installed this one, and now everyone has their own code. It is easy to use, and has so many features. I wish I bought this one in the first place.

GREAT keypad... tricky install LOADED with features.. is it too much though????
First and foremost, I'm not your average guy. I've done advance electrical troubleshooting for years in the automotive industry. That being said, I tell you that to tell you this.. If it weren't for youtube this would have ended up in pieces from frustration. The unit is loaded, LOADED with features... I simply wanted a digital keypad that when I punch in the one code I needed programmed, it opened and held the latch for a period of time....This keypad im 99% certain can tell you what the weather is, your wife's maiden name etc if you programmed it.. ( I kid) but seriously, even programming it was a nuissance as you are required to basically setup 5 codes (all of which I now realize I forgot which means I'm screwed) until you're able to enter the one code you actually want to use for the keypad to work... Let me repeat that, I had to enter the super duper code, then the master of the universe code, then the super programmer code and then, finally the "user code".. NONE of the other codes besides the user code are used to actuate the keypad...If they made a simpler keypad, it would be a 5/5.Besides that, it seems to be a great unit with a good feel to the keys, the electronics seem to function perfectly and I see this being a unit I use for some time to come.

Works well
I am very happy with the access control keypad. Installation was very easy for me. It works quite well as a gate access control for our condo complex and the directions and schematic for installation, programming, and use are very good

Perfect
Read instructions and it will work. It's kinda weird how they programmed it, but works if you FOLLOW instructions EXACTLY.Recommended

My Customer is Happy
These keypads, and several others I viewed, are typically designed for releasing a latch for a certain short period of time and then resetting. Or it can be programmed to hold the latch until you put in your code again later. What it isn't designed to do is to beep until you put in your code like a home security keypad does. Nor will it change it's output if you don't put in the correct code for alarming purposes. Think of it only as a keypad to open a gate or release a latch for a person to enter a restricted area.We needed a keypad to act more like a home or business security keypad operates like described above so I installed this keypad into a small enclosure and placed inside a buzzer, a time delay relay, and a standard relay to create a circuit that beeps when you open an entry door, then you punch in your code which stops the beeping and stops the signal from setting off a larger alarm. So keep that in mind when ordering that you may have to make a circuit if using this for more than just a gate or door release system. My drawing is attached for the way we made this circuit along with part numbers for items you can get from Amazon (enclosure part number not mentioned as you may have other needs).

are the keys supposed to be backlit?
This replaced a battery-powered wireless device that opened a garage door unless the weather was cold. I am pleased with the quality and appearance, and didn't find the programming the sort of challenge that other reviewers found. I was somewhat surprised the first time I used it at night, because I assumed the keys would light up and they didn't! This page on Amazon doesn't say anything about this, and I was going to assume that this feature was left out, but both in the manual and on the Seco-larm site it says "backlit keypad". Does the light require programming that was left out of the manual? I don't see any obvious jumpers or switches. If this is supposed to light up I might just order another one and hope it actually works. Otherwise I'm going to have to wire up an external light.

Great simple access control- control de acceso sencillo facil de instalar
Simple system, easy to install, replace an old keypad, this one was adapted to the existing system, combine it with an access controller already pre-installed with its controls or key fobs, and the ups was shared to keep it closed in case of a power outage, I liked the purchase, I always look for compact, durable, high-impact keypads and this one met my expectations, the price is worth it for the quality, it looks simple but is fine in use.
