Q: Which way round do the filters go. Thinking of buying one and a reviewer says theirs no info in how to install them.

Put the filters with the small tabs facing outwards so the you can pull the tabs when you need to change the filters

Yes you plug it into mains. Its h Great value and quiet when running.

Q: How often do you have to change the filter?

That depends on your location. Living near a major airport such Heathrow, the filters will last a fraction of the time they would if you live miles from any pollution source... I used to work for a needlepoint ioniser, the customers using them near Heathrow were ... not impressed with the change of decor a the airborne jet fuel and combustion products were deposited on nearby walls! Better than in their lungs?
