Easy to use, easy to program, and easy to set up the app on your phone!
I just moved into a house built in the 90s that had a completely ancient thermostat. Honestly, I could not even figure out how to use it, it was just so archaic! I bought this and had a professional install it, so I can't comment on the installation process, but I can say that it didn't take the guy I hired too long to do it, and I didn't hear any groaning or swearing, so I'm guessing it was pretty easy as long as you know what you're doing! :-) The interface is very intuitive and easy to figure out, and setting up the app on my phone was a breeze -- the Ecobee unit basically walks you through it.Features: I can set the temperature I want it to cool my house down to, the temp I want it to heat my house up to, and I can set it to auto (it will heat or cool as necessary) or I can specially just tell it to cool or to heat. There are settings for vacation mode. But really the best for me is the app! If I'm away from the house, I can check on what the temp is and I can turn the heat or A/C on while I'm away -- say, 1 hour before I'm about to arrive home, so my house is at my desired temp when I arrive! Also, if I'm in my back room and feeling too lazy to walk to the center of the house where the thermostat is, I just whip out my phone, open the app, and turn the A/C on or off (whatever I am looking to do) without having to get off the couch! Ah, modern technology is awesome! :-)I did not integrate it with Alexa as I don't have Alexa, and I did not use the remote sensor so I cannot comment on that, though that does seem like a handy little extra!

Accurate and reliable
So we’ve had this thermostat for a while now. I placed the sensors on the furthest ends of the house, one being my teenage daughter’s room that had a separate thermostat because it was an addition. Now this sensor has been in her room for some time now but the last few weeks she’s been telling us to turn down the heat because it gets really hot at night. I got a notification from ecobee last night to check my unit because the thermostat was reading below 60. I checked my app and sure enough the sensor was reading 37 degrees so the heat was cranked in that part of the house. I thought maybe the batteries or something with the sensor was glitching so I unpaired it for a quick fix. When I talked to her today I found out that she forgot what the sensor was and thought it was an old piece of Internet equipment and threw it away a couple weeks ago. Y’all this sensor has been reading the outside temp at night from a landfill about 20 miles away!!! Don’t know how but all I can say is that it’s accurate and reliable to say the least

Big upgrade from most thermostats
The ecobee4 has multiple settings which when used result in reduced electric bills for our heat pump system. It has clear instructions and is easy to install.

Reset if getting a used unit
So I purchased a used unit but it was still preset for the last users setup causing me issues even after local set up. After a few hours of troubleshooting it works but the initial setup was horrible.

Quick and Easy install, even for an old HVAC system...
My house was built in the 60s, the HVAC is about 20 years old...I bought this to help maintain better temperature in the home and better regulate the older system...It works fantastic. It comes with the adapter to hook up an older system... it plugs in just right, super easy...And it maintains the temperature in our home much better...We get 2 total sensors in the package (the thermostat has a built-in one) and the extra one... and we bought 2 more of the Room Sensors (updated) and they link up to the system just fine.I recommend between 3 and 4 total sensors, on each floor, to give the system the best chance of working properly with this system. It is saving me money, nearly paying for the thermostat and sensors... by the end of summer, it will have paid for itself. That is a bonus, because next year, it will save me money.Alexa integration works flawlessly...

Do NOT Buy from this seller
If I could give zero stars I would. I purchased this item and it ruined my HVAC. I had to pay over $700 to get it fixed because the device is defective. The HVAC tech told me to get a replacement and the seller refuses to give me my money back because it has been 30 days since I bought it, but how was I to know it was malfunctioning and sending electrical to my A/C and furnace at the same time until the HVAC tech could come out and tell me why my heater wasn't working. Do not buy this from this seller.

If your house is old, buy a 24v power adapter to save the headache.
This thing is awesome! But chances are that you only have a 2 wire thermostat( red and white) in your house. This was a huge headache for me since it's hard to find out how to run new wires yourself to your boiler especially if you don't have a newer home or have a heat only system. Easy fix though. Buy a 24v transformer that plugs into a wall outlet. You can still hide the wires in the wall and run them into your basement(if possible, or just have a small cord plugged into the thermostat) and plug it in instead of running new wires and wiring it directly to the boiler. This thing requires a c wire even though it says it doesn't. It comes with an adapter but won't work for most people with heat only systems because there is nowhere to hook the adaptor up to if your system is a multi zone heat only baseboard heating system. Once I bought the 10 dollar 24v transformer, it took me 10 mins to hook up. So worth it! Best thermostat I've seen out there.
