I use a vent mounted phone holder/charger I use in my Dodge Dakota which I had plugged into my always on accessory power outlet. However, the outlet's power contact was not very large and it was constantly losing power. I didn't like plugging it into the cigarette lighter as it loses power when the switch is turned off. I came across this outlet and thought it may be the answer to my dilemma and as it turned out, it was. Overall, I really like this outlet. The only negative about it is that it is slight larger in diameter than a standard lighter/outlet hole so the original hole will have to be enlarged to accommodate it. But unless you plan on reinserting the original lighter/outlet later on, that's no big concern.

Got about a half dozen of these.They work great, and actually do Samsung rapid charge properly.They have one annoying "bug" in that they come on powered up, which draws power, when the power drops. Since I have several in my RV I have to go around and turn them all off every time the batteries are turned back on.The crimps are also a hair loose, but a quick squeeze and it's good.

Works great. FYI if you are putting this on a battery system, it still draws 3mA when “off”

I had a broken cig socket on a truck old enough to vote. This was a perfect modern replacement. I had to do some "customization" with a saw to make it fit, but they include a nice little rectangular plate to make up for any ugly. Only reason I knocked off a star was that the aforementioned rectangular plate expects to be mounted horizontally. I had to mount mine vertically, so the lid is kinda wonky.

Works like a charm. Supports fast charging and looks good doing it. Definitely an upgrade from the cigarette lighter it replaced.

The media could not be loaded. The one main thing that intimidated me was figuring out if the compatibility was truly going to work. Sure enough it was the easiest installation I've done yet. As easy as splicing a red and black, and trying them in with a wirenut. I did not have the proper tools with me, just a pair of fishing hook scissors and a knife. I definitely didn't need to bore any holes, just a simple scrape of the original hole will do.I will say this plug is definitely designed with power in mind. The speed charger is actually a speed charger, and was compatible with my android phone.The only thing I'd say may need a little tweak is the sensitivity to the power button. My personal preference is to close the caps off when im not using them, but I notice that pushing the cap at the right pressure can turn the charger back on.If you're needing a good charger and tired of lugging around an AC adapter, and tired of buying speed charging ports that aren't speed chargers I'd highly recommend it.

Fits like a glove in a 99-04 mustang. Fast charging works pretty good and the wiring was easy. I just tapped into the black and red wires on the wiring harness for the cigarette lighter in the center console. Taped the connection end because I was no longer using it just the wires them selves and zip tied the wires into place so they don’t move. Definitely recommend if you just wanna remove both cigarette lighters in your mustang for usb ports that are actually useful. I also like how it has a power button so it isn’t constantly running. 10/10
