We're amassing a collection of these
These are my daughter's go-to calculators. They seem to not really work with the solar cell included in them. They basically require the battery, and as such they tend to die at unexpected times, like when my daughter's about to have a test in college, thus necessitating an overnight order to be shipped to her. Then I replace the battery in the one that died the next time she comes home, but somehow she doesn't remember to take a spare with her, so we repeat this process, over and over. I think I have at least 4 of these now.

My favorite scientific calculator
This is my all time favorite scientific calculator. It got me through high school and college and it stopped working only after being thrown around by my toddlers. I decided to buy the same one again as it was easy to use and I haven't found any I like more. The battery lasted a long time, as I used it for well over ten years.

Battery died 4 months in, right before midterm
Great calculator but I just got a call from my daughter’s school that her battery seems dead. 15 minutes before her midterm test. 4 months into ownership. How?Fortunately I had a spare battery at home (CR2032) and live very close, so I made it over in time to unscrew 6 (SIX) tiny screws. Then had to use a large flathead to pry it open. After that I had to use a tiny flathead to push the battery out of the holder on the chipboard. I was terrified I’d break something in this process. School staff did scrape some of the plastic off because they tried to open it with a small flathead.Anyway, all’s well that ends well but I am still baffled how the battery died so quickly.

Aids with ADHD fidgeting and attention
My son's favorite 11th birthday gift! Not because he likes math, but because he hates fractions! He did not need any help to quickly learn how to use the various functions needed for homeschool math (we use Math Mammoth, grade 6). Great calculator that works well-- with the added bonus of improving my ADHD son's attitude, attention, and tolerance during math lessons, even when only used occasionally during a lesson.

Perfect for 6th grade math
This calculator is great for my 6th grader who needed a more advanced calculator for school. This has all the features he needs to do his math homework. It was reasonably priced and holds a battery well.
