Works Good
My kid had a school project to disguise a turkey as something else as to not be "eaten". We landed on making it a robot. I had 3d printed a mask for it, we used Audacity to come up with a funny recording, and then recorded it into this unit. I then snipped off the record button and the school loved it. My wife ended up adding it to my kid's memory box. We'll see what he thinks in 18 years!

No Instructions
When by experimenting, I found the button to push to start recording, it worked fine. The speaker size is good for that device but I built a small enclosure behind the speaker which doubled its volume

It quit working
it recorded as it should, it sounded "ok". I disabled the record button so i didnt accidentally blank it out. I tested it numerous times. It worked good, I went to install it, it quit working. I havent been able to find a reliable greeting card chip yet.

HUGE
This thing is huge, not designed to go into a greeting card, but I will have to make it work. Giving card tomorrow.... NO INSTRUCTIONSDo not know if I can disable recording function when I have what I want recorded. As far as I can tell, there is no volume control, which is fine.

Damaged on delivery.
Damaged when received. Wires from the circuit were separated from the board. The base of the board was crushed. Components were damaged. Useless. I did however receive a refund offer. Disappointed.

Take this as the instruction pamphlet
This product does do what is advertised but the only way to know that is by figuring it out yourself. Hopefully you’ll see this review and it can help make the process of recording your audio easier.Step 1: Remove the plastic pull tab from the batteryStep 2: Start recording your message by pressing the red button (You should hear a beep to indicate it is recording)Step 3: Stop the recording by pressing either button (You should hear another beep to indicate it is done recording)Step 4: Play back the recording by pressing the black button (Pressing the black button during the message will stop it)For our card we decided to remove the red button to prevent the person receiving the card from accidentally recording over our message. This is how we did that:Step 1: Use metal scissors to cut the two red wires at the same time. (If done properly the scissors should complete the circuit and you should hear a beep like you did in the previous Step 2)Step 2: Stop the recording by pressing either button (You should hear another beep to indicate it is done recording)If the scissors did not complete the circuit while cutting or you want record a different message use the base of the scissors (a couple of centimeters from the handle but still on the blades) to tap the two wires at the same time until you hear the recording beep.Step 3: Cover up your open ended red wires with electrical tape or something non-conductive to prevent possible recording and fires.

Be careful when disabling the record button!
The product worked as expected. Sound quality is passable, however there is always a background hum/hiss noise even in a quiet room. When cutting off the record button, somehow it caused the button to trigger and overwrite the recording (I only cut a single wire, so it shouldn't have completed the circuit). I had to hack the wires together again to re-record. I'd recommend re-applying the plastic strip to the battery first before disconnecting the button.

Good but really big!
Great product but HUGE! Not like in a card (which is what we thought), about a cm plus thick and a couple inches long, one inch wide.

Great easy gadget
Great easy gadget...but Can I cut off the red wire/recording button to prevent overriding my recording & not affect the function of the recording?
