Very good
Great item. Plain and simple and still stylish. I got exactly what I paid for compared to the more expensive room dividers. It's very light weight. The panels are only on one side but that doesn't bother me. There are no leg supports if you want to extend it straight but I already knew that. The wood is nicely painted and did not have any smell to it. It blocks the view and still allows light to pass through. I pushed it a few times lightly to see if it would fall but it didn't. I would recommend this product.

Incredible Value
After seeing junky, much smaller, and super cheap looking screens at Home Depot and Bed/Bath/Beyond for $150+, I decided to search online. I had my doubts when I found this one for such a low price, but since I only need it for functionality when guests stay on our sofa bed, I decided it was worth the money even if I might not like it in person.Wow, was I surprised! This screen is really nice looking, very sturdy, and arrived in flawless condition.Having seen the reviews about the smell, I immediately put it out on our balcony for the day after opening the box. That did the trick. I guess they do the finish not long before boxing them up, so that's why they have a strong smell. It just needed a good airing out, and there is no smell now.I am very very happy with this purchase! (I added my own photos to the product images above.)

Airlock System
I have four cats, one of whom has leukemia so he has to be confined to his own room. I needed a screen to create an "airlock" system for when I enter and exit his room, and I remembered owning these screens in the 80s! They are as good as ever and still very attractive as well as lightweight and easy to move around. It provides privacy but doesn't block light, so it makes a purrfect interior moveable "wall".

Looks Great!
So I bought three of the 3-panel room dividers from Acme Furniture. Then I bought this one from Ore to finish partitioning a nyc studio apartment (small space). It was a perfect match and slightly cheaper. It tips over fairly easily if it has no wall space to lean on, but I'm still figuring out how to keep it grounded. Overall, it looks great and was a decent price compared to other vendors on amazon and in stores. I put white lighted paper Chinese lanterns at the top that I found on amazon and in National Wholesale Liquidators. It enhances the beauty of this room divider. It's also pretty high. I'm 5'6 and it was much taller, I estimate it to be closer to the height of 6'0 since I didn't measure it exactly. Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase.

Aesthetically Pleasing with a Few Minor Issues
Overall, I like this screen. After searching and searching, the price isn't bad. It was just under $90 with shipping and I didn't want to spend hundreds on a relatively insignificant part of my decor.QUALITY:The screen material is definitely synthetic, it's meshy - kind of like the backing material you'd use for embroidery. It does feel cheap, but I won't be handling the screen very often, so I don't mind that. The wood is very evenly stained, but it had a slight woody/stain smell to it that has seemed to dissipate after a few days. The hinges - this is part 1 of why it's only 4 stars instead of 5 - the hinges were unevenly screwed in (the screws were poking out at different lengths, not plumb at all. I was able to fix this with Phillips and it seems to help. The other issue with the hinges is that the center panels seem to be not as well aligned with the outer panels and it makes the center pretty wobbly. I could probably unscrew the hinges and reassemble it, but it's not worth the time to do that. It DOES stand on its own plus I was able to brace it against a book case and that's helped, but I wouldn't put it in any high traffic area unless you have some kind of support. The unevenness was especially noticeable because of my hardwood floors.LOOK:The cherry is a little brighter red than the photos portray, but it adds a nice warm color to the room of dark browns, reds, oranges and gray-blues.The screens look great with lighting behind them and the material doesn't look as cheap as it feels. From even a short distance, it looks great and gives the right amount of partition I needed as well as blocks the wind from the opening door.My roommate likes it so much that she wants to order a second one for the living room (she's a fashion editor and our apartment is very well decorated).FUNCTIONALITY:Like I mentioned, the center panels are a bit wobbly. My other issue is that the gaps between the panels are bigger than I'd like (part 2 of the reason for 4 stars instead of 5), BUT it still lends to enough privacy to change behind it or block the wind from the door opening (again, as long as you have something lending it some structure).I was trying to decide between this and the 3-panel one and I'm definitely GLAD I went with this one. If there was a 5 panel, it would be even better. The 4-panel won't quite hide an entire Queen Size bed, but it will hide most of it and give you the partition you want.SHIPPING:It was here something close to 5 days earlier than it was promised. VERY impressed with that. It had no scratches, the box was very well back and used minimal space. I couldn't be happier. I would prefer it if they offered free shipping (I'd buy 2 or 3 screens instead of just one), but it was manageable.

As beautiful as it is functional...
I ordered the Polaris shoji screen from Legacy Decors in cherry. It came pre-assembled, packed tightly in a strong, but unpadded box. It arrived in near perfect condition, with two tiny dents in the wood--nothing bad enough to merit a return. The four panels are connected by lightweight, yet sturdy, screwed hinges that leave ~1-cm spaces between the panels when opened to their widest standing position. It opens as wide as 68 inches across while standing on its own (that's wider than pictured). It can be stored upright in floor space as small as 17x8 inches without having to lean it on anything. At 13 lbs, the screen can be moved and carried with ease.I doubt it would withstand being banged around too much without getting damaged, but seems solid enough for its intended use. Definitely one of the best buys I made this year.
