Where to begin, on the plus side, the sticky stuff is really, really sticky, which is also part of the problem. Luckily I put on some latex gloves before attempting to handle this product. Arrived in a ziplock style bag. The glue must have gotten warm somewhere because it leaked all over the inside of the bag making it very difficult to remove the pads. Of course as I was removing the pads from the ziplock the glue got all over everything, including the backside of the pads. Next I removed one of the pads and followed the directions by "peeling" it open. Problem with the design here is that the glue goes edge to edge so when you grab the inside to pull the sheets apart, there is no way to avoid getting this glue everywhere. I has a viscosity like really thick honey so when you try to let go of the pad, it creates these "strings" of glue that go everywhere. In the end, because you can't place these traps to a working state without getting the glue everywhere I find them to be unusable.

Rats walked around it...completely avoiding it, even with bait placed on it (witnessed via home security CCTV).

Cruel...remember a mouse screaming for a long while after being caught in one of these in art class when i was a kid...the snap traps are far more humane and instant death...much preferred unless you're an absolute sociopath. They feel pain as we do.
