Excellent buy for the money
I use this in my lab all the time. I thought it would be rarely used for soldering but I find it works great on setting heat shrink. It is far more precise than the traditional "industrial hair dryer" hand gun

Compared to my Hakko 888D, this thing is GREAT!!
I "upgraded" recently to the Hakko 888D and boy, do I regret it. This thing is bang-on with temperature, temperature recovery, and ease of use. I never realized how valuable that single temperature knob was until I lost it. The competition takes several times longer to set the temperature and it's not much better if at all. This iron is excellent and I recommend it highly.

DOA - never powered on/replacement review
I needed this to get work done this weekend, and was excited that Amazon offered it on Amazon Prime. It was delivered on a Sunday, so no fault of Amazon, but the product was Dead on Arrival. After reading all the reviews I realize I should have never bought this heat gun.*update. I've added 1 star to my review since the company sent me a free one to test outafter the refund was issued. It preforms quite poorly composted to the Kohree brand. The fan at max is half the strength. When the wand is placed on the auto cool down holder the heat frequently doesn't begin cooling at all, occasionally it bounces higher than the preset on screen. When compared with the W.E.R. brand it took 2x as long to heat our SMDs for reflowing. The main pro we thought was the removable wand if the heating element needed replaced. All in all the issues we had are something that we would expect to happen with our W.E.R. brand after 3 years of use. I personally am fine with paying the extra $10 for a product that works more efficiently.

Good Performer, great value.
To be honest I'm not sure what the difference is between the 858D and the 858D+, except that the 858D+ model seems to have a slightly different wand. Aside from that visual observation, I just took it on blind faith that the '+' meant it was newer or somehow better than the other version so I I ordered the 858D+.This is a very good unit for the price - less than $50 for a rework station! These stations are sold under many different brands with varying degrees of quality, but the Youyue model I received is solid, safe, and works like a charm. If you're in the market for one of these stations, just make sure you get the correct unit for your region. These devices are NOT dual voltage, so US buyers need to make sure they are getting a 110v version.I have mixed feelings about the seller (ZI YANG Instruments World). The item was listed with FREE shipping, but the seller charged me $4.49 to ship. I called Amazon and one of their reps verified the free shipping and sent an Email to them on my behalf. In response they just updated the product listing with the $4.49 shipping charge and never bothered to respond to the Email. Not even an apology. Not Cool. However, that $4.49 bought me DHL international shipping. I ordered the product late on a Tuesday evening, and it made its way from China to my home in Southern California the following Tuesday afternoon. Not bad at all, and worth the $4.49 they charged I suppose.

not quite what I ordered, and does not work
I knew what I was ordering - a YOUYUE - but I received a UYUE (forums say it is not the Atmel processor) with a Euro power cord. However the label on the back did say 110volt and I found a spare power cord, maybe I can work with this...Did a quick check with a DMM and the grounds checked out "fair" and it indicated the switch was switching the hot pin in the output jack, so I connected the handle, put it in the holder, plugged in to power and turned it on.FLASH POP and nothing. The fuse (8A) was blown, and the power switch feels like it welded its contacts to the 'ON' position, and it won't stay flipped to off.Packed it up, tomorrow it's heading back to Amazon/toppowersellerus. Maybe I'll try to get a YOUYUE from elsewhere.

Value for the money but watch out.
I really liked this rework station and have been using it off and on since 2016. Unfortunately it blew up in smoke and almost started a fire today. I know it is beyond warranty but I would have preferred it to just die of old age rather than be a fire hazard... buyer beware. These things work well enough but don’t leave the room with them on. I just bought another because it worked well but I feel like the value is less now that I know these don’t last long.

For light duty hobby repair use this is a good unit for occasional SMD rework
Got the job done, but I don't expect it to last very long. Might try the replacement firmware and other potential upgrades.Description is for Youyue 858D, pictures are for the Youyue 858D+, and I received a unit labeled Haitral 858D+ that looks identical to the pictures. Immediately disassembled it and it was wired properly, although 3 of the 4 screws holding the sides of the case together were stripped. Front and rear panels are plastic, I thought I was going to snap the back panel in half trying to push the power cable into place - there is nothing but thin plastic holding the IEC socket in place, and the back panel flexes a LOT. The front panel has the PC board and the control knob, switch, and connector mounted on it giving it more rigidity, but there is very little force ever applied to it.For light duty hobby repair use this is a good unit for occasional SMD rework.

Build quality is perfect for the hobby guy
Works as intended, it does remember the last temperature you had. Build quality is perfect for the hobby guy. I got this to replace a BIOS chip on a imac. Got it done in about 3min and that's including unloving and completing the work.
