I have needed a way to connect my Samsung phone to my TV for a while now. I used to have a USB-c to HDMI cord, but it got crushed. My old cord worked OK, but the problem that I had with it was that I could not charge my phone while it was connected to the TV, which limited the amount of time that it could mirror my screen. I got this adapter because it said that I could charge my phone as well as connect it to the TV. It also has a USB port, but more on that later. The first thing I tried was to see if it connects well to the TV and if it really charges (I am vary weary of electronic bought online). Right away it displays a nice picture on my 46" TV, and it CHARGES! I also found out that my Samsung phone has a (mostly experimental at the moment) desktop mode where it acts pretty much the same a PC.Of course I started testing the USB port after that. The first thing I tried was a mouse. It worked great! the next thing I thought to try was to see if i could use a USB hub to connect multiple USB devices. It is able to connect to multiple devices with a USB hub, however I recommend one with its own power supply. I then started to connect other devices like flash drives, external hard drives, hand even a cd/dvd reader/writer. The Flash Drive and hard drive will connect (with the right app) however they must be formatted in fat32. the cd/dvd drive will connect but only with the help of a three dollar app.All things considered I am really happy with this product, and so far it has performed great. As of right now I highly recommend this product and I will as long as I does not have a major failure in the near future (or hopefully the far future either).

I waited a long while to write my review, because I wanted to be thorough.I purchased this back in the beginning of 2019. It arrived quickly (even though I lived in Korea at the time) and was packaged well.I needed to be able to cast my Galaxy S8 plus screen to my TV (not capable of screen mirroring) via HDMI.It worked fine. The only issue, at the time, was after a long while of use, it would get pretty warm. No biggie.Fast forward 1 year, my current TV is now capable of screen mirroring, but I find this adapter to be a more no nonsense approach.The only issue I can see is that, if you're too rough with it, the point where the cable meets the unit may be susceptible to wear and cause a short.The take away here is that it is money well spent, IMHO.

I purchased this just because I needed something quick and cheap to be able to hook up via HDMI to my MacBook Pro and it had good reviews. First and foremost, when I opened it, I was absolutely surprised by the quality of the actual product, was built much better than I expected for the price and it included a carrying bag. I also like the fact that there is no software to download to make this device work. I do have to say, I don't see 4K in the picture at all, in fact at the most I see 720p, that's it! With that said, not too worried about it as I don't do much 4K anything, but someone that does may be upset with it saying it does. Secondly, I notice that it is very tough to put the MacBook Pro power plug into the device, it's almost like I am having to cram it in. Once it's in, it does work, but then again, when trying to pull it out it's tough to get it out.All and all though, this seems to be a solid device for what I need it for and it didn't cost me $60 like the Apple version would have.

This adapter is almost perfect!! I tested it on 3 devices, my LG V20 whiched worked like a charm. It let me charge my phone using normal charge (Did not support Quick Charge) and output HDMI to a monitor and add a USB hub for mouse, keyboard and storage. I tested it on my ASUS laptop from 2016, and it allowed me to add a 3rd monitor via USB C while also still using it as a USB A port or use the USB C port to charge my LG V20 from the laptop. And finally I tested it on my ASUS tablet, which only partially worked. The USB A port worked, but it would not let me charge or use the HDMI port. So this product is almost perfect, but because it works as well as it did for my other devices, I only subtracted 1 star giving it a 4 star review. I hope this helps!

I bring this cable whenever I travel so I can connect to monitors away from home. Sometimes the AirBnBs I stay at don't have wireless TVs or they have workstations with monitors with only HDMI connectors. It has come in handy so often! It works well with my Microsoft Surface 3 Laptop and any device I tried to connect with. I also bought the single HDMI to C connector for my at-home set up so it's less bulky.

Bought this to use with my PC, but noticed it does USB-C charging also--turns out when I connect power and keyboard/mouse, it activates Dex mode on my phone! The Samsung Dex dock is $70-$100 to get this, but I was able to use this dongle for $20 to do the same. (NOTE: Dex mode only activates once I have the dongle connected to the charger, otherwise it does simple screen mirroring.) Works with my PC also to get dual displays working on my laptop, an Asus UX501VW, and it matches the color of my laptop too!The dongle itself has an anodized look with a silver bevel (I got the dark gray color to match my laptop's dark gray top) around the edges with about a 5" cord to extend out of the USB-C port. The cord is thick with good resistance, so the dongle isn't going to flop around, and there's no worry about the cord tearing out of the housing. The housing feels solid and well constructed too, despite being fairly light weight. In the box you'll also get a soft carry pouch to keep the dongle clean and clear of debris when in a bag.

Initially I was sent a non-functioning unit. It did not function with my Galaxy S8.The most it would do was charge.Tuwejia contacted me to try and resolve this issue, and so I got a second one.The second one arrived, although the plastic where the HDMI and USB ports is not properly aligned, and the ports also don't seem to be properly aligned (USB port appears to be alright, HDMI is inset a little further on one side than it is on the other, USB-C port is party covered by plastic). See the picture I've attached.I had to use a knife to carefully remove the extra plastic over the USB-C port, but after plugging everything in, it works with my Samsung Galaxy S8 as a DeX station.I'm not impressed with the build quality.

Great pruduct. works as expected. Good price and it gets the job done. You can charge your device at the same time and also connect a mouse or keyboard while displaying it in the bigger screen . Would reco end 100 percent.

works great in my s8+, can use mirror or even Dex mode. Must connect the power to have HDMI output though?
