I've been disappointed with the reel
I wanted a low profile with bait click for catfishing so I bought the Johncoo 5 months ago. I've been disappointed with the reel.Bait click was weak when it worked, it later broke. It is designed so the line guide doesn't move during a cast, so if it isn't center it doesn't cast well.My round bait cast reels actually outcast this one.The plus? Gears are still smooth, it is light weight, and looks nice. But for $65 there are better options.

Clicker is loud enough to attract you but sensitive enough not to interrupt bites when fish are more alert to tension/etc.
Very well put together reel. Clicker is reported to be really low or defective in many reels but mine is plenty loud enough for its intended use. The clicker itself is nice and sensitive too which could be key in situations where fish respond to even the slightest tension and drop the bait. Price point is also nice. You could usually spend 3-4 times as much for similar size reels. Its probably going to be my first of a few purchases if they hold up as well as i think they will.

Can handle big blades, but.....
As an avid musky fisherman I’ve been looking for something to supplement my Toro winch that can throw some blades, but also real in the slack for those jerk baits. This real can do the job and has great value for the money. My only complaint, the quicker it gets in the way when I cast. I have to keep disengaging it, because I don’t need it for casting. If I did not have a clicker I would’ve gave five stars.Still it’s able to pull those bigger blades and a fast enough retrieve to pull in slack on jerk baits I

It has a "Bait-Clicker!"
This is a very unique "compact" type baitcaster. It can hold a ton of line, even a fair amount of 20lb mono! This compact reel unlike others has a "bait-clicker" I love this reel! I has held up really well so far and has brought in a few 15+ pound cats like a champ! I know you wouldn't usually use this compact type of reel for catfishing, at least I never did, until now!

Drag failure
I cast for Musky and picked this up as a second rod/reel to cast. Any heavy lure when trying to rip it through the water caused the drag to slip, had it cranked down tight and still slipped. Would work for a bit but then slip again, Had to use my thumb when casting a large jerk bait, no idea how this will hold up to a legit fish. I put it down half way through day one of a 3 day trip. When I checked it later it was holding again, tried it out and after a bit was slipping with each twitch. Also has a steady soft grinding sound, I may have a faulty reel but will not be buying this brand again

Musky guys.
This is by far one of my favorite musky bucktail casting reels. It has a very large spool to hold plenty of 60 lbs braid line. I always grab this one first. I paired it with a Berkley BTLR902H rod and absolutely love this set up. Great drag also. Give it a try. Lake St. Clair Michigan Musky guy.

Looks Good
Well packaged and received promptly. Haven't used it due to current home renovation but will post another review after putting it through the ropes. Will be going on a Loomis 10' casing rod with RUNCL 9 strand braid, 35 lb test. Curious as to how far this outfit will cast. Don't own a boat so all my fishing is from shore and more distance equals more water to fish.

Great reel
This reel is fantastic for the price. I bought one for a backup muskie rod, and now I plan to buy a few more. It's a high capacity reel with a solid aluminum frame, decent drag and good retrieve rate for $65. You'll have to spend 2-3x as much to find a comparable reel right now.
