Marinco Electric Hidden Horns

THIS IS THE MODEL L REPLACEMENT!! Want to make that clear to everyone because I was as confused as lots of others wanting to replace a model L but not sure if this is it. AFI went out of business, they made the model L. The company that makes it now is making the same horn but they do not use the stud on top like the model L nor do they use the mounting bracket. Remove the old horn, remove the bracket. The new horn will mount to the back of the grill perfectly. You will need two new screws and two new nuts, I found this was a perfect and fast replacement for my old model L. It sounds like a car horn but it does the job. It would have made it easier for me if they would have put this in the description. I know this will help a lot of other people.

I would give this 0 stars if possible but it won't allow that.Installed it at the begging on the season as I needed a replacement. Tested it couple times and it worked fine.Out there about a week ago and dense fog came out of nowhere. Really needed the horn to make other boats we could hear going around that we were there for those that don't have radar. It worked to about 1/4 of the time and then abruptly stopped. Nothing.Dense fog. No horn. Big trouble.Thankfully I had a whistle on us to blow intermittently as we made way back.If you want a horn you can rely on, this isn't the horn for you. I would love a refund or better yet a replacement of a non faulty horn!

There is nothing wrong with this product. Installation is "drop in" and very easy. It is not particularly loud, but adequate. It is made carbon steel instead of stainless. All things being equal, it will provide a shorter (possibly, much shorter) service life in a corrosive environment. The reason to buy the product is that it exactly matches the hole shape and size and fastener pattern of the OEM horn. Be careful with this as there are a great many similarly sized horns that are not exact matches. I was able to use the existing grill instead of having to buy a new one.

POS. Installed it without trying first. Now i have a hole in my dash to repair cause im not gambling on another. Tried to bench test it. With 13.8 volts....faint barely audible noise. Tried the adjust screw. No luck. Youll be much better to go to an auto parts store and getting an aftermarket high decible auto horn

This horn only lasted 1.5 seasons. When when it did work it was really quiet, I could barely hear it when under way. It was a perfect fit for my 2001 Bayliner's factory horn though.

Replaces original part and fits right in. I'm looking for a more durable and louder horn, but it's tough to replace this with a stronger unit in the same small space. It is good enough given the space it takes up and placement in boat. While I'm on the hunt for more, this is certainly every bit as good as when the boat was new ten years ago and gives me the safety that is required at a fine price. Meets USCG requirements without altering original look of vessel.

Unfortunately this horn never lived up to my expectations. I purchased this for my boat, it isn't loud enough to meet the safety requirement for boating set forth by the USCG. I should have returned it but didn't. I tried adjusting to make louder but that feature didn't help.

Sounds a little quieter than an air horn in a can. It can not be heard over the sound of a 225 2 stroke outboard engine. Fits OEM for 2004 proline 22' sport boat with horn mounted in center console.

It was the wrong size a little. We went to the junk yard. Apparently, a lot of cars use this same horn. for 12 bucks

Perfect! This was an exact fit replacing the original horn of a 2003 Bayliner. E- Z project.

Returned. Wrong fit for Boston Whaler Montauk 170 that they said it would fit.

It's perfect to replace the original horn on the boat.

Cheap and poorly made. Did not work out of the box had to adjust the tone screw to get it to work, and when it did it wasn't loud enough for any application I can think of.
