I dont use torx bits with a ratchet all that often, I tend to use an impact driver with hex torx bits but every now and again when I'm working on the van or other larger installations, a ratchet is the way to go.This set is good in that it matches different drive sizes to the size of the torx - other sets I've had were all for the same drive size meaning either the smaller or larger sizes were omitted or the torx size was wildly mismatched to the drive... 1/2" T6 anyone? Yes you need to have 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" ratchets but if you are buying this set you almost certainly do.The qality of the bits is very good - theyre well made, fit well and are finished nicely. There size is etched into the powder coating on the socket but not into the metal so it will likely wear off as the bits get more use. I havent noticed any problems in this department as of yet, but I am not a heavy user.Theres a good range of sizes in both T and TT so getting round some security fasteners is easy.The blow moulded case that the bit come in is pretty good, not the best by any means though - the hinge is a simple plastic flap so not the most durable. The catches are plastic too but function well enough. I feel that the case could have been made a lot smaller than it actually is, the is a lot of dead space that only serves to make the case bigger than it needs to be.All in, a very nice set of torx bits that will serve the non professional user well; at £32 they are reasonably priced.

Great set of torx bits perfect for working with machinery as there's a good range of sizes, particularly the larger ones as these are harder to come by in a good set as a reasonable price. Very solidly made and the case is sturdy and holds all the bits securely in place.

If like me you're into your DIY tasks, then you'll come across some jobs where you need to work with a torx screw. Usually this means sorting through various screwdriver sets trying to find an appropriate size, or indeed a set that you haven't already lost the size you need. Hence when I saw this set I was very keen to add it to my toolbox.First mpressions are good, the torx sockets come in a plastic hard case, and Inside there are 64 socketed tips ranging from T6 to T70, with the tips made from s2 stainless steel. This is harder, but perhaps more brittle, than normal steel, so should prevent the tips deforming over time. The socket attachment is made from heat-treated Cr-V steel which is softer and less brittle, but not subjected to the same forces as the torx tips.You actually get two sets of each size, as one is for security torx, which has a hollow hole in the centre, but these obviously work with standard torx too, but It's good to have them.These all fit onto standard sized socket wrenches, some are standard size and some will need a size conversion attachment as they have the smaller attachment need. If you have a socket adapter for your drill/impact driver, you can also use these with that too.Performance wise these all work well, no problem screwing and unscrewing, and being the harder s3 steel they should last for years without significant deformation of the tips.Overall at £39 this is perhaps a bit extravagant to buy on the off chance that you might need a torx bit, but if you work regularly with torx, or secure torx, then this is a great kit to pick up given it has pretty much every size of torx you're going to come across in the wild. And they are stored in a handy hard case to boot.

Starting at T6 and going up to T70 makes this a very useful set of hexolobular internal drivers, the manufacturing and finish is decent enough, in fact at the price it's excellent and the use of chrome vanadium and S2 steel should ensure they are long lasting and capable of use in impact tools. The case they arrive in is blow moulded plastic which is fairly sturdy and holds the bits securely but I suspect the hinge will be the first thing to fail with constant flexing, only a minor point. The entire set of 17 bits is duplicated in the tamperproof version which will add to the weight if you are carrying the set with you and is perhaps unnecessary as the tamperproof drivers will work with standard torx fixings, still a very good set for the price.

This set of Torx bits seems fairly well made, although the box seems a little on the cheaper side.I rarely need Torx bits, but on the few occasions I have, it's been infuriating as I cannot get on because I've not always had the necessary parts.This set definitely will dispense with that problem. There are a variety of bits from small to large, many I am never likely to use.You will need a variety of socket sets or different sized ratchet handles to fit all the sizes, it would have been nice if there had been some adapters, but that's a decision you make when you buy.I do feel that the price of £38.99 is perhaps a little on the heavy side.
