Profigold 1m Ultra Performance Digital Coaxial Interconnect Cable

VERY sturdy cable! This is built like a tank and has a locking mechanism on each end - failed to see this at first and wondered why the connectors were so tight! You turn the metal shield anti-clockwise to loosen the fit, connect and then turn clockwise to tighten the fit.The cable is heavily shielded and very robust. Connected from a Technics CD coaxial out to a Pre Box RS Digital DAC and the results seem fine to me - marginally better than the QED cable (broken connector) it's replacing. A key benefit is the build quality and, at the price I bought it (around £25) a bargain. I think I would still be happy buying this at the full price of around £50.

The sound (from otherwise the same kit) is very good. Within a couple of seconds of first trying it, the bass was obvioously better defined and deeper. Within a few minutes it was also obvious that instruments were better seperated and that voices could be heard in a 3D setting. That was several months ago. These days I am just amazed at how much better my system sounds after such an inexpensive upgrade. Incidentally, you do have to unscrew the outer casing before inserting in the socket, and tightening it. I'm now buying a second interconnect.

Visually this is most definitely a 5 star product, it looks like a premium quality hi-fi interconnect. The build quality is excellent and backs up the high quality appearance. There is a high attention to detail in its construction, heavy duty locking RCA plugs, added strain relief at the cable/plug connections and impressive chrome plated ferrite collars at both ends.This is a robust cable that isn't going to fall apart like some I have tried in the past, in particular the Akord Premium Digital Coaxial Audio Lead which is a perfect example of a poor quality cable marketed as a premium quality one.It is difficult to say if it sounds better than a cheaper (web made) coax cable, I don't tend to be able to tell any difference between cables so I would suspect its not really going to make my system sound any better, but I feel it is worth the price over cheaper cables for the build quality alone, hopefully this high quality construction will result in long term reliability.For a good hi-fi digital interconnect I would recommend this as an ideal choice.

The cable appears to be a well made quality product. I read some reviews before I purchased and noted one of the reviewers said they thought the music sounded better using this cable over a well down one he had replaced. Well, I am of the same mind. I changed my cable because due to some equipment re-siting, I wanted a shorter cable, so I chose this. The sound does indeed appears to be warmer and fuller, So in summary, yes a big recommendation from me.

Really well made cable, looks worth the money, great packaging too. I've used this to connect a cd player to a DAC and it sounds great.I have to say it's very difficult to push in the cable connector into the coaxial sockets of my devices. A lot of force was required. It's made a secure connection to be sure, but I wouldn't want to connect/disconnect it often.

Excellent quality digital interconnect at a very good price. It sounds great, much better than 5 stars QED performance coaxial cable.Gold-plated twist lock plugs for better connection are great and very easy to put in.

I am well pleased with this cable its linking a good Hi End Blu Ray player to my AV amp & I think it well worth the cost good with music & movies replaced a very old but similarly priced Cambridge Audio digital cable.

took a chance on this lead after reading a previous review, and must say that my system sounds better than it did using my qed lead which cost quite a bit more,the sound is clean and smooth would certainly recommend it,a steal at 20 quid.
