Oberto Specialty Meats Applewood Smoked Bacon Jerky, 2.5 Ounce (Pack of 4)

I’ve been a fan of Oberto’s Bacon Jerky for years. It has great flavor, minimal additives and does not require refrigeration. The only minuses are: occasionally the quality is a little too fatty/gristly.On a quasi-related note; a vendor related issue - my last purchase (thru Amazon) was > 1 month past it’s “best by” date when it arrived.

Lots of 1st time bacon jerky buyers here apparently. Downright crazy people are expecting perfect slices of grilled bacon or something when ordering a bag of bacon jerky, goodness gracious.I like this jerky and it's a super value when there's a promo. The quality is good and texture is what you would expect out of bacon jerky. The flavor might be slightly lacking to some, but that's because this jerky isn't overflowing with high fructose corn syrup / sugar, which is exactly what I wanted. Occasionally i'll give a bag a squirt or 2 of some sugar free maple syrup and shake it up, which really kicks the flavor up, but it's really good either way and I prefer it without. Perfect bacon jerky imo, and high quality!

As others have said it's "shelf stable" cooked (but not crisp) bacon. Docking it 1 star (really just 1/2 a star) because it's quite salty and the bacon flavor a little mild. But i still like it a lot. The texture is not like beef jerky. It's more moist because it has a good deal of fat (because... umm... it's bacon). "Pederson's Bacon, Fully Cooked No Sugar Bacon " ( https://smile.amazon.com/Pedersons-Bacon-Fully-Cooked-Sugar/dp/B07DHSVV1Q/ ) is crispier (but still not crispy) and more flavorful, but also about 2.5x the price per oz as of this writing which is pretty significant. Also the Oberto bag is more convenient if you want to only eat 1 piece, but otoh the Pederson's is better if you want to pack a single-serving snack. Anyway, both are definitely worth a try if you like bacon.

The product itself gets 5 stars. This is good bacon jerky. If you love bacon you will like this product. If you like jerky, just realize, bacon jerky is not the same thing. It’s not going to be anything like beef jerky.Overall I’m only giving 3 stars.5 for the jerky.Minus 2 for the date.I bought this in a store in oct 2020 and the expiration date on the package was 8/2021, like all jerky, it should have this long shelf life.I bought this on AZ, a 4 pack, in 11/2020 and it expired 12/13/2020So it was still not yet expired, but way older than it should have been. I planned on going through a pack a month but by then it would have been old.So, recap:Product = GreatBuying on AZ = questionable, do at your own risk.

Very tasty. Great bacon flavor and didn’t have many fatty pieces. I was looking for a jerky that didn’t give me explosive diarrhea and these did the trick.

Wasn't really sure what to expect as I tend to eat lots of varieties of jerky. These meat snacks are more like a bag full or bacon, still soft not dry, just like out of the frying pan but cold and slightly more rigid without all the grease to last longer. If you like bacon you'll probably like these, pretty good.

I purchased this product twice about a month apart. The first time the jerky was so fresh and tender and chewy. It was amazing! The second time it was dry and tasted “old”. I looked and it was within a year expiration, but it tasted terrible. I was so disappointed. I wish it would be a consistent buy. I would buy it every month if it tasted like the first time. Not sure what happened.

One of the frustrating parts of keto is that a lot of the dried meat snacks that I prefer include a lot of sugar. I've found some that met my criteria (tasty, tender, good texture) but they are few and far between. I've tried a lot of options (e.g. biltong? weird taste and texture) and so far this is the best one.First, I love bacon, however I prefer my bacon extra crispy, which this obviously isn't. However, the texture and taste are still really pleasant, to me, and it's very low carb. Also, there's no nitrites added, which is a bonus for me.They're a bit pricey, but worth it for me to have a keto-friendly snack that I enjoy and that isn't chock-full of chemicals trying to mimic carb-y foods.
