Oyster grit may be an alternative form of calcium.
Just received, and while grit isn't considered strictly necessary I wan't an alternative source of calcium. I put a bottle top with a teaspoon full of this on the bottom of the cage and leave him to ingest it or play with it as he wants. So it seems OK to me!
