Dentist recommended
I have an unusually dry mouth due to medications. Especially at night. My dentist recommended this product. I was a bit hesitant as I have tried a different one in the past that was gross. This one has a pleasant orange taste (not too strong), is easy to use, just takes a little bit so it lasts longer and works so well. It isn’t unpleasant in any way. I am very happy that I gave it a chance. Will definitely keep buying it.

Tastes bad
This product is very effective, however the taste of it is bad. It would be excellent if they would go with just a slightly sweet, or no flavor. I keep tasting that citrus when I am trying to eat or drink something later, and it isn't pleasant.

Works somewhat, funny texture
It's a gel with a mild citrus flavor, which is a nice change from mint! I have a hard time with the texture, it's a gel but it almost feels a little oily too. I get so weirded out by the texture I can't tell how well it really works! Lol (I'll try to update the review after I use it some more). And you're supposed to squish it through your teeth? It would be nice if the directions gave a little more information about how much to use and how many times a day you can use it. I get extremely dry mouth due to medication and I need it 24/7!! Though it does say it might help prevent tooth decay? I probably won't buy this again. I prefer a spray, drops, or lozenges.

Works great
My husband prefers this brand. Thinks it works better than the one starting with a F.

a lot of grit, orange flavor (irritating if dry mouth sore), can't recommend
OraCoat Xyligel dry mouth gelIf only companies would realize that people who suffer from dry mouth also tend to have easily irritated tissues including their tongues. If a person with dry mouth also uses C-Pap for sleep apnea their dry mouth is even worse than normal. Therefore, it is best to have NO flavor at all in a dry mouth gel, spray etc.If there is any flavor it needs to be VERY mild and preferably not citrus (even though this states there's no citric acid, it does seem to contain something irritating). The amount of grit in this is rediculous in my opinion. It's so bad it even irritates my bladder. Can't return it.Decided to try this one after using the one that starts with B for many years and was happy with it until they changed the formula and now it's useless for myself anyway (the B= It doesn't work. It's thin and doesn't last but a few minutes) but this is a definate no.Then I tried this same brands (Xylitol) type that comes in a little tablet with a sticky side that adheres to your teeth and they make the tissues of my gums and the inside of my cheeks irritated because the tablet it too hard. It's dry xylitol or sorbitol and it's so hard (compact) it rubs and irritates the tissue. Also noticed that the corners of my mouth got irritated and would cause my mouth to be slightly drooling in the corners!! Very weird. Then I tried the one that starts with S (gel) and it was such a gross consistency and taste I wanted to send it back as well. Finally, I just tried the one that starts with A and ends with Y and It's Victory at last!! It has very little taste and it's a pleasant taste, not gross. It's thick enough to last yet not like globs. It surprised me that it lasts for 1-1/2 hours at least, maybe more because I use it while sleeping. Finally got a good nights sleep and only had to use it 2-3 times. The one starts with B had to Use about every 20 mins. or so since they changed the formula.I use the dry mouth gel at night and use a C-pap machine. Not to mention my mouth opens. So I personally don't recommend this brand (OraCoat) based on all the above issues.I can definately recommend the last one I tried (of course) that starts with an A and ends with a Y. Thank God, something that tastes good, actually works really well, doesn't irritate the mouth, only takes a small amount and lasts a long time. Hope this helps someone because it is a difficult problem to find a solution for, especially at night.
