Game-Changer for Busy Parents – Love It!
I’ve had this roborock for just over a week now, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made—especially as a mom of two very active little boys! Our house is a mix of wood flooring in the living room and bedrooms and tile in the kitchen and bathrooms. The machine handles both surfaces flawlessly. It transitions smoothly between them and picks up everything from cereal crumbs to muddy footprints (thanks to soccer practice and snack time chaos). The mopping feature is amazing. It washes and dries its mop all by itself, so I never have to touch a dirty mop head. It also works with Alexa, which means all I need to do is to say "Alexa, ask roborock to clean the room".I honestly didn’t expect to love it this much, but with two boys , this robot has saved me time, effort, and a lot of sanity. Highly recommend it to any busy parent or anyone who just wants cleaner floors with minimal effort.

Fantastic cleaning robot
The media could not be loaded. Roborock S8 Max Ultra – One Week In: A Real-World ReviewI’ve been using the Roborock S8 Max Ultra for about a week now, right after moving into my new home. Overall, the experience has been smooth and impressive.📶 Setup & Wi-Fi ConnectionDuring the initial setup, I did run into a common issue: the robot only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Since my home network used a combined 2.4GHz/5GHz band, I had to split the bands and connect the robot to the 2.4GHz network manually. Once I did that, the pairing process was straightforward.🧹 Cleaning PerformanceMy house has laminate flooring throughout and tiled bathrooms. Right now, we don’t have a lot of furniture, but the robot has done a great job navigating around chair and table legs, accurately detecting and avoiding them with its obstacle avoidance system.I ran two separate cleaning tasks: a full-house vacuum at standard intensity and a full-house mopping. The vacuuming performance was solid—it picked up hair and small debris effortlessly. Some corners were a bit hard to reach, but that’s pretty typical for any robot vacuum. The mopping was also impressive: the floor was noticeably cleaner without being left too wet.🤖 Smart Features That Impressed MeTwo things stood out in a good way:1. When vacuuming the small bathroom rug, the robot not only detected it accurately but also cleaned it without shifting it out of place.2. It successfully recognized and marked clusters of charging cables and even a bathroom scale on the app’s map—which was surprisingly accurate.⚠️ One Minor FlawThe only issue I’ve encountered so far was in my study. The robot detected the modem’s power cable lying on the floor but still spent a little too long cleaning around it, eventually pulling the plug out. I plan to set a no-go zone in that area for future cleanings, which should solve the problem.✅ VerdictAll in all, this was a very worthwhile purchase. The S8 Max Ultra has taken care of the majority of my floor cleaning needs and saved me a ton of time and effort. While it’s not flawless, its performance and smart features have been more than enough to win me over.

Convenience is the king
First of all, let me state that this is the 5th and most high-end Roborock product we have purchased. We own a S7 and a Q5+ in the house, and we also purchased two other S7's for our parents. These speak to how well we love the Roborock product. Story is long on how Roborock becomes our favorite brand, from the first S7 purchase when we need a mop unit, to the Q5+ purchased 3 months ago to replace our last Rumba (bye bye for good). However, this review would focus on the S8 Max Ultra we recently purchased.First impression: the box is heavy and this thing is huge. I know it's a big guy from the picture, but is still surprised of its size, especially compared to the Q5+ with its base, and the S7 without a base. The robot itself, however, is actually slightly smaller than the S7. ( See the attached comparison pictures)Set up: it's as easy as all its precedents. It took me probably 15 minutes from opening the box to see the unit in the app and ready to go.Mapping and first use: initial mapping is very fast. It took about 15 minutes for my 800 sqft floor with many stuff on it. Mopping the whole floor feels slightly slower than the S7. It took about 1 hour and 45 minutes for the whole floor. It went back to base to wash the mopping cloth quite often, 5 times in total if counting the initial one. Cleaning frequency is adjustable, default to 15 minutes.Best thing I like: the convenience. Don't have to wash the mopping cloth every day is huge for me. It took a bit more space, but still worth it.Things I don't like: none of the consumable parts are compatible with previous models. The mopping cloth is different from the one for S7. The trash bags are different from the ones for Q5+. I don't know if this is due to design requirements. But it would be certainly great if Roborock can make their replaceable parts compatible between all products. This is not a big deal, though, especially if you only own one unit.Overall, I still rate this 5 stars. Thanks for bringing the great products to the market.

Bad Investment!!
I've had this for 8 months, and it was spectacular for the first 6. Hoever, the battery has slowly been losing performance and endurance, and guess what I've discovered: YOU CAN'T GET A REPLACEMENT BATTERY! I bought the closest one I could find on Amazon, but it didn't fit. I then found one on an online Battery retailer, but they just canceled my order and said that the manufacturer has discontinued the battery. I can't find one anywhere else. When I bought this vacuum, it was $1600 on Amazon; now it's half that price, and you know why -- they don't support it anymore! I'm stuck with a lemon. Looks like I'm in the market for a new Robo vacuum, but it won't be from these guys. If anybody can tell me where to get a replacement battery, I'll remove or modify this review.
