Q: might be daft question, but will this fit over/under my current air conditioner hose? (eg to use as insulation) as mine gets hot

Hi, it could fit over you current hose. However, this is not a insulated hose and because it is black inside still gets very hot on my system. Maybe try to turn it inside out to have the silver on the inside or rather go for a insulated ducting. Good luck.

Q: Can this be used for air conditioners?

I can't see why not. However, keep in mind that this is not insulated ducting and you will have some heat loss. It does better with cold air. Also depends on the distance. On shorter distances say less than 5m it should be fine.

Oversized

Was more like 175-200mm, not 150mm. Secured it with a hose clamp but it required bending of the end of the ducting. Then required sealing with aluminium ducting tape.
