this is perfect for the top loading ice maker i bought . would have been a 5 star if it came with the cap with a hole in the center but i was able to drill it out . Not a real big issue . Any that have a water cooler will know what i am talking about . good purchase.

Works perfect with the ice maker and for those wishing it had the lid with hole just wrap press and seal around the opening. It will break open when you push it down in the ice maker.

- there is some confusion over the safety of the plastic used in this bottle. It is true that the plastic type is marked 7 on the bottom, but it is also clearly labeled as BPA free. Type 7 is basically just any plastic that doesnt fall into the type 1-6 categories. My best guess is that this is some copolyester plastic like Tritan that is BPA/BPS free and used in things like water bottles.- I got this to use in an icemaker that has a water bottle adapter. I modified the screw-on cap that came with the bottle by cutting a round hole in it to fit in the adapter and then cutting a + slit in the foam cap seal (I will eventually replace this with a silicone disk cut from one of my food grade silicone mats). It worked perfectly.

This product could use some improvement. Water spills everywhere when turned over to set on ice machine. Would not recommend

I got this to hold water that I will eventually be distilling (just purchased a distiller with this bottle and another 1-gallon bottle from 'another' brand). It appears to hold 1 gallon as stated. It has a relatively wide-mouth opening (I measured 1 3/4") and a screw-on cap. It will get the job done. However, I would NOT order more of these. Main reason: it came with a large sticker on the bottle that has so far been almost impossible to get off. I've tried using warm water, alcohol, and now it's current soaking in de-solv-it that I hope doesn't breakdown the non-BPA plastic. I don't understand why manufacturers do this. The second, but not as critical, reason I won't get another one is that this one has a little more give to the sides than I would like. The 'other' brand I got is much more sturdy and as a bonus the cap is stainless steel and is attached with a strap. But to reiterate, the main reason that I won't get this brand again is that sticker...time is important to me. Spending my time to scrape off a sticker = unhappy customer. I was so frustrated I tried to return it only to find out that they charge 5+ dollars to return it. In the sink it went to soak in de-solv-it....
