This is my first CNC machine, so I’m a newbie to working with these. I’ve had the machine almost a year and I recently ran into an issue where the Y axis motors were working opposite of each other. I reached out to the customer service department at FoxAlien and they provided me with some troubleshooting options. They said that if that didn’t work, to let them know and they would send me a new motor, which ended up being the case. They got it shipped out in a timely manner and I was able to get it swapped out and tested for proper operation. All is good once again. I appreciate Joe in the customer service department for his timely assistance.

In the world of CNC you need a couple of things! Quality built and good support. Then its up to you to be patient to learn. I spent the extra to get a solid machine! This was well worth the few extra hundred bucks! Then I bought the 80 watt laser and upgrade to the larger format! I like to be creative and think outside the box so I used the laser on low power to do the pie crust! The the spindle to do the golf puzzle! This I did within the first three weeks of purchase! I use Vcarve pro and lightburn! Enjoy

I purchased this CNC as my first hobby CNC Machine. I am decently familiar with CNC routers from my job, so it's pretty similar! I would recommend paring it with Vcarve and GSender as this Machine is GRBL based and uses .gcode files.Setting the machine up was fairly easy, and i would recommend watching the how to set up your XE-Pro by James Dean Designs to get it all set up l. Right out of the box, however, my machine was perfectly square and calibrated perfectly as well. The build quality is more than what you would expect for an "entry level" hobby cnc router which is nice too! The max cutting size is listed incorrectly on the pictures though, as my limit switches make it to where I can cut a 16in x 17in instead of the listed cut limits in the description and photos. Some reviewers state that they have had issues with the motherboards going out or something else going out, but so far no issues after a month of running it. Will update if anything changes! I would say if you are on the fence about buying it, get it! It's a very nice machine to have!

Set up machine and use locktite on moving axis bolts to ensure nothing comes loose (foreshadowing) First issue was dealing with all the software requirements. Be aware this unit does not come with any software to design or run the machine. They recommend Candle but I had absolutely no luck with it as the machine kept crashing each time I tried to start a job. Ended up using G sender and Vcarve desktop (an additional $350USD so your aware) to begin running first job. Run some simple jobs to verify square and integrity of machine. Have less then 30min run time and homing failures. Notice the Y axis is not moving and found the rod has popped out of the stepper motor adapter. I am a person who fixes things before complaining that being said I loosened the set screw and reinstalled the rod hoping for a quick easy fix. Not a chance. Next test it separates again with set screw tightened as much as my 30 year old man self can get it. I am very disappointed with this specific unit but I have watched a ton of YT videos and this seems like an exception. Overall the unit is of good material quality and sturdy. I would love to keep the machine and not have to begin the return process but that will all be based on their customer support which only has an email. Will update review once there is a resolution.

Bought this XE Pro to upgrade from my 4040 XE. This machine is a beast compared to the 4040 XE! It is solid and heavy! It takes longer than 30 minutes to set this up but simple and easy just following the pics. After set up, I checked for level and plumb and everything was spot on! I made a throw away spoil board to go on top of the machine bed and ran a 25mm surfacing bit and the cut was perfectly level! I can also tell you that after having the 4040 XE for almost 2 years that Fox Alien's customer support is fantastically awesome! You email them and their back at you the next day! The listing says 220v power. There is a switch on the bottom of the control box that allows you to select 220 or 110. Great little machine!!

This cnc arrived in working order with no damage. Amazon failed to deliver on the Sunday they scheduled my for. I waited all day as to not have this expensive item sit outside. Amazon never fulfills anything they schedule for Sunday delivery in West michigan. The cnc was easy to assemble with great instructions.

Besides repeating what has been already reported about the XE_PRO being a bargain relative to what you get from the machine, I have had excellent customer service regarding spare parts purchases and answers to technical questions.
