The throw I received for review was the “white diamond pattern” version, i.e. not one of the two designs shown on the product page (Union Jack and world map). I am reviewing it on the assumption that it similar to these two in terms of material and finish. The attached Amazon photo gives you a rough idea of the pattern.The pattern is a mixture of black and white areas, with each area the other colour on the other side. This means it is reversible, so, if like us you have pets who shed, you can quickly turn the throw over if you have company coming (remember those days?), Alternatively, it means you can just turn the throw over whenever you want a change.It is heavy, made of a thick cotton weave which is pleasant to the touch but still feels strong and long-lasting.Because of its size it is huge, more than enough to cover and protect a three-seater sofa with some to spare. The fringing is a good touch too, making it look less like a blanket and more like a throw. We have not yet tried it on a bed; my wife has no intention of hiding it away in a bedroom, saying “something this lovely deserves to be on view.” She went on to say: “It gives our lounge a totally different look making it more cosy and inviting, and as it can be used as a blanket to snuggle under it is perfect for these cold and snowy days to keep you warm and cosy.”Although it’s heavy, it’s not too thick and bulky, unlike some throws. than some out there today.When it needs washing, you can do a cold wash in your machine (hand washing isn’t an option unless you have a huge sink). It can be tumble-dried on a low setting.Good value for £80.

I received the black and white diamond design cover in the largest size to review for amazon.This is a genuine woven product, it is always easy to tell a true woven item, the back will be the polar opposite to the front.I have been involved for most of my career in the commissioning / design and retail sale of woven floor rugs and carpetsIf you are buying a machine made rug and you want to have the best you would buy a Wilton woven rug, if you were buying a patterned fitted carpet you would look for an Axminster woven carpet.Many years ago I visited the Stoddard Templeton carpet factory in Scotland and was able to see a Jacquard loom working at full chat, it was a sight I will never forget.I have sent many colleagues to different factories making woven carpets and all of them without exception went asking why were these products so expensive and after seeing them made came back saying how can they make them so cheap.A power loom is an expensive item to set up and run and it makes its product at a much slower pace than anyone expects.But what it makes is the finest most perfect item you could ever wish to hold, hand made is much more expensive and art in its own right often because of its flaws, if you want perfection you can only get it from a power loom.This black and white cotton throw is lovely, I am resisting the temptation to have it in my lounge, the white is a little too stark.We will use it as a bed cover, I have included a couple of photos so you can see how it looks on a king sized bed with a duvet underneath.If this is used as a wall hanging you will be amazed at how much difference it makes in absorbing sound and retaining heat in the room, like a heavy pair of curtains it will help to keep that expensive heat you paid for in the room and if on a party wall it will keep the noise of next doors huge Tv and noisy kids just that bit further away, all as side benefits to having something very different and beautiful on the wall.All the designs on offer look excellent. I would have loved the world map option because that would look great on the wall in our lounge and has more practical colours in it for everyday living.I laughed out loud when I saw the union Jack. When we had the Olympics in London we had a number of Union Jack rugs, which were nearly impossible to sell because they were far too loud in colour, they were true to the flag.Someone much more clever than I realised the pantone was completely wrong for a rug, so they changed the Bright red, Bright white and Royal blue to Deep burgundy, Off white / Cream and a darker navy blue which, while still the Union Jack was 100 times easier to sell for inside the home use, as you will see this Union jack has been adjusted in exactly the same way!This item may look expensive to many people at first glance, however let me tell you it really is not expensive at all.This is a marvellous piece of woven design that anyone can afford to have in their home, go on and just buy it, you really wont regret it!I would happily recommend this product to a friend or family member and too you.I hope you found my ramble through my past at least a little helpful!

This is an excellent heavy cotton woven throw that looks quite magnificent on any sofa.The one I received is the black and white geometric design. Each side is the "negative" of the other, so you can have a predominantly white or predominantly black design, whichever you prefer or fits the room better.The only minor quibbles are the lack of washing instructions, and the tassels shed loose threads when first unwrapped, so you will spend a while picking them up or may need to do a bit of hoovering.But those are minor points overall this is a perfect big throw that will make any tired sofa look magnificent, or keep any new sofa looking its best.Ideal for any home with pets or children. Or anyone who likes to put their feet on the sofa. While still wearing shoes.

….or a bed. This throw is very large indeed and covers my three seater sofa with ease. It is also extremely heavy and would make an excellent extra layer on a double bed as it gives an enormous amount of warmth. The pattern is a map of the world and in muted soft colours and is rather attractive.It is a soft weave and has an ethnic artisan feel and look. It is classified as a throw but is thick enough to use as a rug on top of a carpet as well. It would also make a Great Wall covering but would need to be attached to curtain poles/rails if you decided to do so.It really is rather effective

I received the white diamond pattern throw and it’s beautiful, it is reversible so you can have mainly black with white or mainly white with black depending on your preference. It’s a huge throw and easily covers my 3 seater sofa which is ideal as washing this is easier than stripping the whole sofa every fortnight due to two small messy kids, however washing instructions were not included so I just done a cool cotton wash in the machine and it worked well. I must say this because of the size is very heavy and because of the tight thread it keeps the warmth in very well.
