Handheld ECG Monitor MD100P10-B is designed for busy patients ‘on the go’ who have minor concerns about their heart and who wish to monitor their ECG trace. The traces can be replayed or printed out on a PC to provide ECG data to a doctor or specialist which could be useful to assist in diagnosis and treatment of a heart condition. As there is no complex set up, and the unit is small enough to fit in a pocket, it can be quickly switched on to collect ECG data the instant a problem is suspected. This may detect conditions before they become serious. Portable, cheap, but very limited.
This little portable ECG monitor has good and not-so-good features. The good things are that it is very portable, very cheap, and easy to set up and use.Not so good is that the ECG trace is not very sensitive. It doesn't pick up P waves, which indicate the atrial contraction, so that atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter or even lone atrial ectopic beats can only be inferred from the rhythm of the tracing. It detects ventricular ectopic beats quite well. Using the filter setting or not makes no difference to the trace. It isn't stable enough to show differences in baseline such as raised ST segments. The emoticon which appears at the end of the trace either smiling or frowning appears to me to be purely random and can change from the end of one trace to one done immediately afterwards. In short, this is useful if you have a few ventricular ectopic beats and want reassurance, but not for much else.

This does the job. Couldn't make the Windows software read data off the device, though. Would probably spend a bit more and get on that can write to a memory card.

mini ecg heart monitor
I found this to be a very useful health aid. The hospital and surgery didn't have a portable cardiac event monitor available for me so I bought this to capture what was happening to my heart prior to my cardiology consultation. I would advise using the hand to heart option only as this gave excellent readings, whereas the hand to hand readings gave high heart rates. But on the hand to heart readings I was able to print out the ecg tracings and take them with me, which meant the consultant could see that I was only having extra beats and nothing more. I only wish I'd bought it much earlier but it is an excellent piece of equipment.

thank goodness i'm not mad :)
I bought a ChoiceMMed MD100P10 Pen Style Mini ECG Monitor as I was having chest pains, i went to the hosital with these pains, but by the time i got there the pains had gone and an ECG showed up clear, i was then sent for treadmill stress test which i passed with flying colours, i did explain to the doctor that anytime i get the chest pains it is at night and when i am resting, several times following the first eposide i returned to hospital with these chest pains and each time by the time i got to hospital and was seen the pain had gone and the ECG was showing up clear. i was getting to the stage where i felt the doctors thought i was a hypercondriac and was therefore reluctant to go to the hospital again.i spotted the mini ECG monitor while on amazon and after reading how easy it was to use i bought it. when it arrived i couldn't wait for a chest pain (not because i like them but because i wanted to make sure i wasn, going mad. A couple of weeks later and, bingo chest pain, the monitor was so easy to use and showed up a reading (which i dont understand) and a sad face (which i do understand, i took several readings to make sure then after taking asprin and waiting a while i took another reading which showed a smiley face (thats how easy it is to read). i kept monitoring myself for several weeks then when i had a further hospital appointment i printed out the readings and took them with me. it turns out i have Vascular spasm,s which only show on an ECG while they are happening, now i am on mediication to help this. without the ECG monitor i would have ended up getting no-where, it really is one of the best things ihave bought

ecg monitor
Bought this to enable my elderly mother to monitor her pulse rate frequently as her medication was being altered to control fast heart rate (atrial fibrillation) as pulse oximeter inaccurate in this situation and she struggles to count her own pulse.Short learning curve to ensure good contact with two hands but then easy and quick to use. Display a little small but OK with reading glasses on and rewarding when get a smiley face when the pulse rate is good. Takes ordinary batteries and so far haven't needed changing.Primarily bought as a pulse rate monitor so not tried to download it or use more advanced or diagnostic functions - keeps records of last 30 readings - so dont know how easy this would be. Although expensive it has been well worth the money and half the price of other equivalent monitors. Good product
