I installed this for my mother to help her in and out of her claw foot tub. It works well, very stable giving her security get in and out of the tub. It installed quickly without requiring two people. They also included a pipe wrench to tighten it once it was placed.

Wow this made a great difference in our bathroom. It’s very stable. Goes up easily. Really helps us get in and out of the bathtub safely. Doesn’t take up a lot of room. Was really a great purchase.

There isn’t a stud in the wall next to the toilet so I could not install a typical wall mounted grab bar.My only beef is the initial threads of the first two pieces did not line up. I shot it with WD-40 and, with a lot of force, was finally able to get them to screw together without cross threading. After that, the rest of the construction was easy, using lubricant in the male ends.When positioned, raise the upper bar so the plate is touching the ceiling and screw down the nut by hand as much as you can. When tight, hold the upper bar firmly with one hand (to prevent it from spinning) and tighten the nut with the included pipe wrench in the other hand. I read some reviews where people complained about damaging the poles with the pipe wrench. Just hand tighten the pipe sections and do not use the wrench on anything other than the nut.The polished grab bar is easy to move up and down using the included allen wrench. Just ensure you tighten it very, very firmly once you find the right position to prevent it from moving during use.Nice thing about this pole is if the person’s condition improves the pole can easily be moved to other locations (shower, 2nd bathroom, etc.). Better yet, when it is no longer needed there will be no holes in the wall to repair.

READ BEFORE YOU BUY. There is no warranty or customer service. Avoid. The pole is a great concept but as another reviewer stated the top of the handle comes loose after use. This defeats the purpose of a safety feature for an elderly person. My mom weighs 120 pounds at most and shouldn’t be able to pull the top part of the handle out of the pole. When I contacted the seller, they recommended that I wash the parts and reassemble not sure what that would accomplish. I had my mom‘s maintenance man look at it and he said not to use it it’s defective. The handle does not stand tight enough. It defeats the purpose of a safety pole for an elderly person.

I bought this to use by my jacuzzi, and it’s perfect! Very sturdy. It even comes with a pipe wrench to secure it to the ceiling.

This was installed just outside the tub in a pretty small bathroom without much extra floor space. It seems good and tight after installation floor to ceiling, able to bear the horizontal force of much of my near 200 lbs. as I get in and out of the bathtub. The bar is large with plenty to grab with both hands. A heavy duty pipe wrench is included and no, it does not mar the finish on the bar as it is employed only on the knurled tightening knob.

I am a full time caregiver for my 94 year old mother who lives with me. She has advanced stage macular. She practiced yoga until she was 92. Now we accuse her of pole dancing. I started using poles when friend gave me his after his father passed. I have added 2 Vive poles. The quality, sturdiness & design of the Vive is far better than the two other brands I have. The circular, wide base & top make for a very secure installation. I did put non-slip material under the pole in the bathroom. These poles allow her to navigate her room safely. Last time i went to order they were out. I ordered a different brand, which turned out to be inferior for many reasons. The other 2 brands tend to loosen up after use. I have not had the problem with Vive poles. I highly recommend these poles!!

The grab bars itself is very well-built and easy to install. We installed it in our shower for stability when showering my mother. You'll need to make sure it is centered on a ceiling support or you'll ruin/break your ceiling drywall and you'll need wedges to make up for the slant of the floor. We also added no-stick tape to the handle itself as it's quite slick when wet. After a few months in the shower, the floor and ceiling bases will begin to rust. They aren't as high quality as the pole and handle. I may be using the item wrong, but it seemed like the most stable option for a glass-enclosed shower.
