HamourdBluetooth 5.3 FM Transmitter for Car

My old vehicle has a cassette tape player, so I really needed an update and this little Bluetooth adapter got good reviews. When I first plugged it in and tried it out, carefully following the installation instructions, I couldn't hear my music because of all the static. (Yes, I moved the radio dial to a non-playing "station" on the dial as directed by the printed instructions.) Disappointed, I thought I'd have to return the device. But first I googled the problem and learned that it helps to go into the radio adjustments and turn both the bass and treble down to negative numbers. Did that and the static disappeared and the music plays fine through the radio. If you're having the same issue, try that solution. The manufacturer should put that tip in the instructions, too. I haven't tried the phone on it, but the music player is easy to operate and I'm really pleased with the adapter.

Pros: very versatile because you can adjust volume, bass, and treble with this device.Con: at low volumes and anything higher than low treble I can hear the background static from the FM station, regardless of how many “blank” stations I try it on. This is my 3rd Bluetooth FM transmitter and I have never experienced this static with the previous 2, even using the same car, and same FM station. My last one, a comsoon brand I bought here on amazon 6 months ago, had zero static and sounded awesome to me. So unless you are just buying this one for the versatility I bought it for, I would choose another one, such as the Comsoon one I used up until today. The reason I bought this one I’m reviewing is because I did not want to wear out the volume, bass, and treble knobs and buttons on my 19-year old factory mustang mach 460 receiver unit that cannot just be replaced by itself with an aftermarket unit due to the unique ohms of my system by designed by Ford. So I will probably keep using this Hamourd one but to do that I have to keep the treble turned down on my factory radio. Otherwise at low volume I hear background static (as other reviewers have also said). The instructions with this fm transmitter even say something like….you more or less have to find a balance between the settings on this and settings on your radio. I spent 45 minutes in my mustang today in the driveway, working to find that balance. Again, I would only buy this for its versatility, not the sound quality. My comsoon one that is still available here on amazon (I bought it in Feb 2023) has superior sound quality, and always connects automatically with my iPhone for playing music, and works flawlessly. The comsoon also has a higher overall quality sound to me too.

This Hamourd Bluetooth Car Adapter is the first Bluetooth device I've tried in my old car. It's easy to set up (though I had to push hard to insert it into the lighter receptacle). I can play music through the car audio system from my Android phone — both from streaming services and from ripped music files stored on the phone. If I ask Google Assistant a question, I hear the answer through the car speakers. The USB-C charging port performs fast charging for my phone. Volume control is a bit tricky as there are 3 settings in the audio chain: the phone's volume setting for media, the Bluetooth device's volume control, and the volume control on my car's head unit. The weak link seems to be the FM signal from the Bluetooth adapter. That amplitude is low, so I have to crank up the volume on both the phone and the head unit. In addition, the audio quality depends greatly on the source. Some tracks are good, some lack detail and sound unpleasant. Bass is weak even for me (I'm not a bass-head). Remember this is FM audio. A direct stereo connection from the phone to the audio system's AUX input produces better sound. Playing a CD provides the best sound by far. So I don't know how much I'll use the Bluetooth connection for music. Time will tell. I might use it for other things like audio books and Google Assistant searches for driving information.

I've used this device for several days now. There's so much to like about it.The design: awesome and solid! Because of my vehicle's cigarette lighter placement, I wasn't sure if this device would fit. It easily fit perfectly. It swivels so you can easily tilt it like you want it. Everything you want it to do is easily found and visually attractive.The physical look and feel: again, VERY solid. The part of the device that swivels is strong and not at all flimsy. The bass and treble wheels...absolutely solid and easy to adjust. (I love the bass/treble wheel feature.) This device is definitely well made.The layout: exactly what I would want. The digital display (that shows which radio station it's tuned to) is sized right so I don't have to squint. The placement allows for a quick glance. The "volume wheel" is sized correctly so you don't have to fumble around to find it whilst driving. The equalizer lights are to the right where they should be. The controlling wheels are closer to the driver, right where they should be.The features: whoever designed this device knew what they were doing. It's feature-packed yet simple enough to set up and operate that I still haven't read the instructions. I love being able to skip to the previous or next song from the device instead of my phone, which is a convenient feature and also one of driving safety if you think about it. The volume wheel is sized well and easy to locate by feel without having to look for it. Besides volume, it also controls answering a call among other things. What most impressed me about it is how much it will do while remaining simple to operate. The dedicated bass and treble wheels: again, they are solid and textured: very easy to use. I didn't think I would use the bass/treble wheels that much but I have. What it wound up doing was making the tunes sound better. Having that feature allows you to adjust the sound of the songs you're streaming without having to change your car radio's sound which is awesome.The price: perfect, considering what all this device will do and how solidly it's made.I've used a ton of these things over the years and this one is by far the best.

I had a different model and brand that I purchased a few years ago from Amazon, nothing was wrong with it but I thought it may be time to upgrade, or so I thought. What drew me to this product were all the good reviews. Honestly, I should've just stuck with "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality. This model is Def NOT an upgrade or a downgrade it's pretty much the same as the model I was already using, but for the fact that this product is bulky, which in my case and with the type of car that I have, is not a good scenario. I have a Honda Fit and if anyone out there knows this model car it's not very practical, or at least my model isn't. The lighter, the only lighter is in the center way under the dash and behind 2 cup holders. So this bulky product stands way out, in addition it is really hard to push into and out of the lighter. The sound that it produces is no different than my current model. The two silver cylindrical buttons are actually knobs which turn to adjust the bass and the treble. I guess if you like a lot of heavy bass than you may benefit from this. However every time I have to push the product in or pull it out of the lighter those knobs are turned and out of place and require readjustment. In addition the USB plug is on the side, which once again with this unit sitting waaay down under my dash and behind my cup holders makes it difficult to reach to charge my phone. I truly wish I had kept the box because I Def would have returned it. Instead I honestly thought I could convince myself into liking this product but I DON'T! I guess you live and learn, the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
