I purchased this Sonoff Power Monitor on a hunch as i couldn't find any information on it to see if it would work in a bidirectional way - ie to monitor wattage going in rather than out.I have a few sonoff products around my home and always find them to be great pieces of technology that work just how they are suppose too. You need to have the eWelink app installed to get the most out of these device, the app is free and easy to download.Connecting up this device was a breeze there are very decent quality connectors for you Live and Load inputs, and installation only took around 5 mins. Unfortunately as with all sonoff products i own there is no earth connector so i had to make my own.Once powered up i was extremely pleased to see that it was indeed bidirectional and measured the wattage and ampage coming in from my solar array. Checking the app i was able to watch the wattage from the panels increase as more sunlight hit the panels. The only thing that didn't work was the wattage as this displayed the grid wattage rather than the solar voltage, but Watts and Amps worked great. Remote control of the device was also great, i was able to switch on and off the mains portion of the device without issue from the device and the app.For standard appliance use, you can not go wrong with this energy monitor - it seems to be very accurate and will feed the data directly into the app, or you can just look at the LCD display - i do wish there was a backlight on the display as it was at times hard to read.Love this device! Works as it should, the only down side I have noticed so far is that if the WiFi drops out they switch off, bit of a pain for my application but hopefully they won't do that too often.

This is a nicely built piece of kit, vastly superior in every respect to the (thankfully) discontinued Sonoff POW. Easy to install, easy to set up, works like a charm. My only complaint would be that the LCD display is not backlit and is difficult to read.

Very easy to install and connect to WiFi. No earth terminal supplied so you need to make your own.

Great product, service and delivery

First off, the Sonoff firmware is awful - you need a app, the device needs to be on the same logical network as your app and it's horribly clunky to set up.Luckily it's really easy to open up and flash with different firmware - I put Tasmota on and after a short while teying to work out how to make the relay work (it's bistable), it works perfectly and I tegrates with my HA system perfectly.

Product arrived timely and well packaged.Had one or two issues relating to the firmware which has nothing to do with the amazon seller, these were resolved by contacting sonoff support, and the device did need a firmware update to function.

Great device that works seamlessly with other sonoff products. Mine are also controlled by Google. Checks usage of power for devices. Wired mine up and mounted in a small blank empty consumer unit (for safety)am able to check how much devices are using on my phone via app.Its very informative as to how much things cost to run. Great easy to set up and use.
