Although there are no discounts on insurance rates in the USA for having a dash cam yet, they can be invaluable to prove fault in an accident, or if you are the victim of road rage. I researched many, and decided on the Car Guardiance Dash Cam. The design that sticks to the window, rather than hanging down from the windshield like my phone, and insures that I can see without any blind spots. It has a range of about 7 feet around the car, the picture is outstanding and you can actually see whats on the screen because of the larger window, AND most importantly it was very easy to install and use. It came with a charger, but you have to purchase your own SD card because one did not come with the dash cam. But for the price this was the best deal, even without the SD card, that you can purchase just about anywhere for a few bucks. I feel safer in my car now, and would be able to prove to my insurance company whose fault an accident really was, if needed.

Seems to work fine mostly. However the WIFI function, which is a large part of why I purchased this one, does not work. Only twice out of at least 50 times I have tried to connect to it has it actually worked. The phone app will get stuck trying to connect to the camera, eventually failing. Will most likely return if I cannot figure it out in the next couple days.EDIT: I have taken my previous score of 3 stars to a 2 star. This thing is basically junk. The only reason it gets 2 stars is because it does technically take dash cam footage. But trying to get it off this device is next to impossible. The wifi app does not connect and I have gotten it to connect to my computer only once. I actually have footage I need to retrieve and don't have the hardware to read the card directly so I have to connect via the device and it will not connect. Do not waste your money if you want a device that will actually allow you to get your footage if you need it.

Leaving a review to help others. I purchased this model since it has a great reviews and a really good price, but unlike my other dash cam, I can easily take it down and put it back up. On occasions whether it be to manually and comfortable work on it or simply hide it or put it away so (per user manual) not to "expose to high temperatures or direct sunlight, especially in the car". In my case it will always be outside in the sun and hot temperature. That might not be an issue for others but for me I don't want to have problems with it due to misuse. So I like to take it down and put it back up without worrying that the 3M adhesive will weaken or require more labor to replace the 3M tape.

First off let me start with this, my husband bought this with thought process of my wife can figure it out, he's a keeper. So here goes. This dash cam almost took a ride down the creek. My advice to anyone setting this up is do not I repeat do not stick it to the window without setting it up first!!! My husband whom I love dearly put it up then had me set it up...well the menu is not accessible unless it is docked and no amount of cussing is going to help otherwise. So after a few choice words muttered so as not to scare the neighbors I finally for the most part set it up and it is a really nice camera. The instructions could of been better but hey I did it and my husband lives to see another day.We both read the instructions and as far as I can tell it never once said to set up then install, but we could of missed that tid-bit. Its been known to happen. Good price, great product.

I gave this product 2 stars because it does not come with a mount that allows you to take the dashcam down from your windshield. You literally stick the top of the dash cam to the glass and it stays there. That's poor design. Also the power cord could stand to be a couple feet longer. I installed it in our 2011 Suburban with the power cord plugged in the outlet inside the center console storage to keep it out of the way. The furthest the cord would go would only allow the dashcam to be put in the top right corner of the windshield, versus in the middle behind the rear view mirror. Oh, and it took a couple of minutes trying to get the SD card to stay in the slot, and the manual is written in very patchy English.I previously bought a Rexing V1 for my car. It is a much better product. I regret buying this one to save a few dollars.

This is a great budget camera. It's just works. Cheap and reliable. Picture is not the greatest, but it does the job. And the wifi way to set it up it's really easy to work with.

Just received the Car Guardiance Dash Cam. Took a bit to figure out how to get it into the menu. In the booklet, it states to push the Mode button to switch between camera and video modes, yet when I look at the section the shows each button and their names, there is not a button names Mode. Which one switches the modes.

I nearly returned this camera because the instructions are not very detailed and I could not get it programed. I finally got it to work the way I wanted and now expect to buy more. The picture quality is excellent and will record any time the car is started so you can set it and forget it. I presently use it in several different vehicles so I used Velcro to mount it which makes it very easy and fast to move. UPDATE THE CAMERA WILL NOT RECORD CONTINUOUS AS STATED.IN THE INFORMATION, IT SAYS JUST PLUG IT IN AND IT IS READY TO GO. I HAVE TRIED MANY SETTINGS AND SEVERAL WILL NOT WORK AT ALL. I HAVE RESET IT TO DEFAULT SEVERAL TIMES BUT TO NO AVAIL IF THIS CAN BE FIXED I WILL ORDER MORE OF THESE BECAUSE THE PICTURE QUALITY IS VERY GOOD. HELP
