The 100 Greatest Console Video Games: 1988–1998

A great collection for retro gaming fans and enthusiasts!
I’ve got a number of retro gaming books and books on gaming, in general. Brett’s 100 Greatest Console Videogames is a stand out book on my shelf, and any other fans shelf. If you’re a younger gamer looking back at years before you were born, or nostalgically looking back at this era yourself, there is plenty of coverage of games you love and maybe even missed. A Google search or YouTube video is always a random roll of quality and doesn’t give you the details; this book does. Great job! I’ve got other books by Brett Weiss and will continue to look out for more projects by him in the future!

A great book that covers the Greatest Decade in Gaming History
I love this book but the choices in the book are questionable like Where's MegaMan X and Klonoa Door To Phantomile?Still I highly recommend you check the book out!

Good book!
Like the rest of Brett's books, this book is well written and put together. I enjoyed the extra insights from other people and getting their take on the games. Pages are glossy and heavy and all in color, and all the art work "pops". I enjoyed this book because I took a break from video gaming to pursue college from 1995-1998, so it was nice to "fill in those gaps" of missed gaming from those years.

Just an absolute masterpiece!
Once again, Brett Weiss and his contributors deliver an absolutely amazing video game history book...this time, covering one of the most formative decades in the industry's history, '88-'98. Weiss has a long and proven history of authoring some of the most compelling and comprehensive books coving all aspects of gaming culture, and this time around is no exception. This book is a wonderfully narrated and illustrated exploration of the 100 greatest games that spanned the 16-bit era through the early disc-based era. Weiss, along with some very talented industry names including Todd Friedman, Matt Miller, Zoe Howard, Patrick Jr Hickey, etc., hand-pick the games they believe to be the stand-out choices for that decade. If you love gaming and are interested in owning a truly unique piece of video game literature, please consider checking out Weiss' book.

A must have book!
Brett is an extraordinary author and has the incredible knowledge of retro gaming history. I was honored to have been asked to write a chapter in this book. I highly recommend checking out his other books as well, to get a full history of gaming. You won't be disappointed.

Waited a long long time for this.....
Pre-ordered for June 2022 and got it six months later. Book is well made and the cover is solid as a rock to protect the pages. I pre-ordered based on reviews of the previous book but have to say that I am a little disappointed because there aren't enough photos of the actual games that they are reviewing and the text is super small. How can you review video games and have only 1 or 2 pictures of the game ? Mostly they are pictures of nothing happening in the games as well...
