Great novel. Buuuuttt.......
Great novel, flows well, beautiful artwork and very very dark /off beat. My only complaint is its so awkward and difficult to read due to the way the book opens. Cool at first. Super annoying shortly after. There's no comfortable way to read it. But yes, still worth the read. I would give 5 stars but the scoring factor brought it down to a 4.

weirdness, mind blowing drugsstranhe pictures
lots of weird drugs and surreal drama.strange drawing style. if you liked Asterios Polyp this one is as much strange as that one.you can see this free on authors pages but then you will decide to buy it anyway like me.Mazzucchelli even described it as "future of comics".... and he was right.totally mind blowing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Engaging, funny, wild
While this book's style threw me off a little at first, the zig-zagging narrative and use of color and abstract imagery pulled me in and took me for a ride. This opened my world to Dash Shaw's (amazing) work in comics

Beautifully Depressing
Excellent. There are some cool things about this book; the fact that it's vertically-oriented, has a flip-out map section, and is delightfully post-apocalyptic are just a few. The inking and story are top-notch, and foreshadow the coming collective consciousness mind-meld.. or something like that.

Great imagination
I had already read this story before buying the book, but the binding and colorful direction make everything come together very nicely. I'm glad I bought it.

BodyWorld, a truly psychedelic experience.
If William S. Burroughs' Naked Lunch were to have been written fifty years later and illustrated, it would look something like BodyWorld. At first glance, BodyWorld seemed simplistic and did not immediately draw me in. But in picking it up a month later, I found that it has a much more complex plot, with distinctive characters and interesting drug-induced twists. BodyWorld reads like a wild, psychedelic sci-fi nightmare that you won't want to put down until the final page. The mixed media artwork complements the novel flawlessly.

Couple hours of ugliness for no payoff
Self-destructive professional drug experiencer + documenter finds a new drug and beyond that it's hard to say much without spoiling it. Except for the realism of the dialog of the trashy main character and the one or two stabs at ideas (that of a super organism like an ant colony or human society - mentioned but not explored - and the novelty of what happens when minds overlap - nothing attractive), it's really got nothing. Not the art, not an interesting depiction of the future, or overall point-possessing plot.None of: a pleasure to read, instructive, interesting, or a worthwhile experience, even taken as a whole.
