Ojocam Chameleon Multi Purpose Dash Camera with 16GB, No GPS

I recently purchase an OJOcam Chameleon from Amazon and in my opinion it was a great buy! It comes with a suction cup mount and it is portable with a lanyard strap. I do use my phone a lot to take pictures instead but it is good to have that option with the dash cam if needed. The quality of the video was great, it comes with both HD and Full HD, (which I usually just set it on FHD anyway), as well as wide angle camera. It captures sound pretty well that I could hear myself jamming to the radio when I replay the videos haha. With a smart phone, you can download an app for free and connect to the camera for more advanced settings. Overall I would say it's a very user friendly product!

The Android app is broken and is incapable of properly setting up the camera, but the camera's setting can't be accessed any other way, making it not quite but close to useless.1. It rarely finds the camera even if it is right next to my tablet. Factory reset sometimes helps but I lose my settings. Changing settings disconnects the Cam, so you are back at waiting to see if it finds it for a minute or two if you change anything.2. It gives a loud audio feedback for several seconds while waiting to recognize I've pressed "setup". It is hard to explain just how laggy and slow it is. Sometimes it will go fullscreen and stick for a long time (with the echoing feedback).3. Setup will not see ANY access point for the Cloud function though my tablet and computer sees many in multiple configurations - this is probably just broken.4. It has two settings for resolution, FHD and HD. Not HD and SHD, or FHD and SHD, or better yet 1080 and 1296, so which one is the better resolution?There is no help, instructions, as to what any of the settings actually do. Auto off? Motion Detect? Impact Sensor? Well, I just have to guess. When I unplug it a "motion detect" screen with check/X comes up, I though I set that. It is watermarking with date and time, but I don't want it to (it can be in the file mod time or metadata or something). With the motion detect icon active, it won't start recording even if I move it around.If the cam itself wasn't so good, I would give this 1 star.Maybe iOS is different but the Android App is completely broken.The "watch via internet" might be good if it actually worked, but it can't be setup. The over wifi works, but only locally and I don't have two connections then. It looks like they spent more time on fancy icons than in either writing or testing the software.The only hardware complaint is the battery doesn't seem to have much capacity, nor does it hold the charge (it seems to discharge while being used as a dashcam, so if I pull it out the battery is always close to being completely discharged, at least if t).
