Castaway PC-13CW Large Cotton Rope Hammock

This hammock is pretty much what you expect in a hammock ... stringy, soft cotton rope, wooden spreaders, fits a free-standing hammock stand well. When I took it out of the box and installed it, the rope was pretty stretchy. I left it out in the first rain (which took an awfully long time considering I live in Seattle), and let it dry in the sun. Now it's tighter and doesn't stretch as much. For the best experience, your hammock should really be about as tight as you can get it on the stand.I know from experience that my hammocks will typically last 1.5 yrs if I leave them outside in the rain. With this hammock, I am rolling it up and storing it in the garage in-between hammock naps. We'll see if that helps longevity.

I purchased this hammock to replace the one that came with a frame that I already had. Right out of the box once I got on it, it nearly stretched to the ground. I ended up tightening it up (a lot) and then had to have it wound up so tight that it was honestly completely horizontal before I got on it so that it was off of the ground a decent ways. I wouldn't recommend it. But it will do for now.

I hung it as tight as I could pull it on my frame, so that it was about 4 feet off the ground. As soon as I laid my 185 lbs. in it, it stretched to within about 4 inches of the ground. They did allow me to return it without problems though.

Others have noted that it stretches till you are on the ground. It does. However, I retightened it, lay in it, and retightened it four times and now it's fine. It feels much better than the polyester one I replaced.

Nice hammocks. I built this kind of structure in my backyard and hung two hammocks side by side. To bad the Mrs. and I never seem to find the time to relax. Maybe this summer???

Sorely disappointed - must be a mistake as I have bought Castaways before and they were excellent. The weave is so widely spaced that my 5 year old Granddaughter 's legs fell through the openings of the weave. She promptly followed with the rest of her body to the ground.No fault in the way it was hung as this is my 5th hammock over the years.I should be given a replacement.

Love this hammock! While is does stretch some as others have stated, it has not been a problem for us. We just tightened it up tight, and no problems. It has ample room for two, and is nice and soft....very comfortable.

We bought the Castaway hammock based on our review of all other hammocks being offered on Amazon, its affordability and size and the positive reviews of other purchasers. It is well made and quite comfy. We recommend this product highly!
