Great Illumination for Work Areas, Closets, Cabinets and Dimly Lit Small Areas all Around the Home
I love these little LED wireless puck lights, they are very useful for any dark or dim small areas that require extra lighting when there is no electrical outlets handy. Most homes have spaces that have restricted lighting; in kitchen areas the hanging cupboards for dishes limits the lighting for the counters. Our body blocks the illumination from the overhead lighting, when we work at areas that are against the wall. There is not enough lighting in the underneath cabinets or in the bathroom vanities below the sink; again, we block the light with our bodies, and these are dimly lit and tight storage areas, that require some illumination to find an item.Closets are notorious for poor lighting, the upper shelf blocks out any overhead lighting for the lower shelves and areas. The MADKING LED wireless puck lights are useful for kitchen, bathroom, workroom, garage, and basement areas, any place that has overhead lighting blocked by our own bodies as we work in dimly lit corners or the counters and work areas along the wall.As decorative accent lighting, they will illuminate a cubicle within a wall unit to enhance some pieces of art.The MADKING LED puck light has a 3 ¾” round diameter, the inside light within the plastic base perimeter is 2 ¼” and there are 5 spotlights within the light. The light needs 3 AAA batteries, which fit under the back slide-off cover. Two small screws and a round 3M adhesive mounting comes with the LED light for installation, however, drilling holes is NOT necessary, the LED is very lightweight; therefore, the adhesive mounting holds it securely. The LED puck light is best located stuck to the top of the area with the light shining in a downward direction, if it is placed on the back with the light shining forward, the light is glaring and the area is not illuminated well. The feature that I like more than my other adhesive LED lights, is a gentle press on the front of the LED, turns the light both on and off, there is no switch to fumble for, which makes it very easy to turn the MADKING LED light on in the dark.I have included a picture of our dimly lit cabinet that stores some of small serving dishes, how dark it is during daytime, and then another showing the difference after the LED puck light installation. Another picture shows a cubicle shelf in our wall unit, and then the complete change after I attached the LED light at the top.I received a Free sample for an evaluation; the usages, statements, opinions and pictures are my own.

Nice puck light - good design, reasonably bright, free hardware...however, a bit lower MSRP or +batteries would sweeten the deal
I have used this MadKing LED puck light for about two weeks now and am mostly happy with this product.Sometimes having portable light really comes in handy. The uses are endless. Historically, portable puck lights had one major issue: they rapidly killed batteries. With the dawn of high-efficiency LEDs and fourth generation NiMH battery technology, this is where things get interesting.----------------------DESCRIPTION/SPECSThe MadKing Puck Light is about is about 3.5 inches across and .75 inches tall. This compact light uses 5 separate LEDs emitting a color that is similar to a warm white (white, with a little tint). It is also available in a “cool white” color. Using 3 AAA batteries, the light has long run time intervals (there is also a larger model that uses 3 AA batteries.) The box comes with a few different mounting materials, including screws and 3M double-sided tape. The rear cap twists off and has pre-drilled holes that you can use with the screws to mount just about everywhere. This light is activated by pressing down in the center until you hear a click (at which time the light comes on.) There is no automatic timer and so the light will run until you press it a second time to turn off (or the batteries run out.) Batteries are NOT included.----------------------MY USAGEThis is a pretty simple light, but thus far it has gotten the job done for me. I am not sure what the technical output figure is, but it’s a good bit more than I expected, and it is bright enough so that it is useful in many different roles. I’ve seen some puck lights that were brighter, and others that were not as bright. Battery life also seems to be pretty good, although I am using rechargeable batteries that dramatically out-perform alkaline batteries, and so I do not know how power hungry this light is on disposable cells. I also like how the mounting hardware was included…it’s a tiny detail, but it does make life a little more simpler.----------------------A NOTE ON BATTERIES…and saving some serious cashIf you have a lot of battery powered items, and especially if you use them a lot, new generation NiMH batteries will save you hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of dollars over the years. The current generation eneloop 2100 has performance that far exceeds premium alkaline disposable batteries, and can be charged over 2,000 times. Like with most devices, popping three eneloop AAA’s in this light means it has virtually zero run-costs, so I highly recommend considering an investment in quality NiMH cells.----------------------CONCLUSIONThis isn’t the right light for a search and rescue mission, nor is it a good choice if your light is going to be constantly dropped or exposed to extreme shock. However, if you want an inexpensive LED puck light that provides ample light output for a wide range of tasks, this is a good choice. This would be a better choice if it either came with batteries or had a slightly lower MSRP.)(I will update this review in a few months as I continue to use this product longer term.)(I was given this product as a sample from the Maker. When I review a product, my first-hand experience with the product is what determines my ultimate rating. In the review, I explain why I gave this product that rating I did.)
