PowerHeat Space Heater Infrared Quartz Cherry Finish

Agree with the previous reviewer, I used it to heat my basement and it did not even heat up more than 2 degrees. My basement is not that big and the claim on this heater is that its 1500 watts and heats up 1000 sq. ft. Totally not worth the price, I have processed the return already its not worth it!! get a better heater

I bought this heater at SAM'S club on clearance after the holidays.Reading some of the other reviews, it appears that people seem to think that this heater should somehow be heating an entire house all on it's own. That, however, isn't the point of this at all. This is a supplemental heater that is designed to help keep a room warmER than it normally is when you're using your normal furnace in the house. It's not a whole house furnace, and it's certainly not supposed to be the ONLY thing that you're using to try and heat a 1,000 square foot room.When used for it's intended purpose, to help heat an area that is already being heated by something, it works amazingly well.For example, my home is a split level home. We have a constant velocity furnace, but even with the high end furnace system the upstairs portion of the house stays quite a bit warmer than the downstairs and mid-level portion of the house. This means that when you have it comfortable in the lower levels, it ends up being too warm in the upper level. If you keep it comfortable in the upper level, it means it ends up being too chilly in the lower levels.We have been using this heater in our main living area on the mid-level of the house. We can set the thermostat on our furnace to 66 degrees, and within about an hour this heater will heat that main living area (which is about 400 square feet) to 71 degrees and keep it at 71 degrees. I have measured this with both the on unit thermostat display and a good quality thermometer.The warmth in the room is noticeably different as soon as you exit the room and into a room that is closed off by a door off of that main living space. If the 45 minutes or so that it takes to warm the room up is too long for you, the unit is on wheels so you can easily point it directly at you and make sure that you are getting direct heat blown right at you. My wife and I do this with the unit...when we turn it on, we point it at the couch that we sit on to watch TV so that the heat is blowing directly at us...once the room is warmed up, we sometimes just keep it pointed towards us, and other times point it slightly away so that the heat isn't blowing directly at us.I believe that this machine works perfectly as intended...and as long as you go into it knowing that it's not going to replace a $6,000 whole house furnace, you'll probably end up having a good experience as well. It's not going to heat a room from 35 degrees to 75 degrees...but it's not designed for that.

In all honesty,I did not buy this heater from Amazon, I bought it at SAMs Wholesale Club, but they are the same heater . It is as described, the thing they did not mention is that it has PoorHeating as opposed to the name implied on the box , which is Pro-Heat or Power Heat (which is neither).The fan on this thing is very quiet, that is because it is very small and I would equate its strength to blowing a kiss across a 1000 sq ft room! It is very cold today and it has not gotten to even 72 which is the default setting. I started heating this room at 59 degrees inside, and it is only at 68, and has been running all day. If this thing has 6 heating elements, 3 are not working today.I plan to return it Jan.2nd, bought it Dec 30th. Low quality heater for money, I am investing in Eden Pure. I know they work.
