Enjoyable start to the series
This seems like a great start to a new series. The Axis and Alliance coalitions have been at war across the universe for many years, with deaths in the millions. Now, although the Axis is poised to win, both sides are tiring of the fighting and there is an opportunity for a treaty. With an arranged marriage between Prince Mikos of Tygeria and Col. Ryan Donnelly of Earth, the symbolic a truce is also established. Still, trust, intimacy, and a bond must develop. Also, danger threatens from the resistance movement and those who prefer to profit from war. Can these two find their HEA with so much against them? I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Great story - Some improvements could be made
(4.5 stars) Love this story. Above and beyond the typically thin plot in this genre. There were a few times I was left confused though, or there just needs to be better editing.Example #1: "He moved so fast sometimes for such a large man that sometimes it sometimes surprised Ryan."Example #2: in the first half of the book, Mikos said he loves Ryan's brown eyes because brown eyes don't exist on his planet, Tygeria. But then fast forward, and Ryan's brown eyes remind Mikos of a brown-eyed creature near the Tygerian capitol. And toward the end, there's a brown-eyed Tygerian... I'm just confused at this point.

Angsty, sexy aliens!
The first time I found out about this series was when I saw a promo for book 8 and thought that it looked interesting. Of course I wasn't going to start at book 8 and as the fates would have it, I was given the opportunity to review the series from the beginning. How cool is that!!!This book had me hooked from the first page. I was thoroughly intrigued from start to finish. The characters are amazing and I could feel for both of the MC's.Mikos is doing his best to stop the 150 year old war that his planet has had but his heart isn't in it. Being wed to a female from earth is not what he wants out of life but it's a diplomatic pairing and being the prince, it's his responsibility. So right away I feel for him. Then, his bride runs away and he is given the chance to mate with her brother Ryan. He is attracted to Ryan but Ryan has never had a relationship with another male and it's a fight to win him over. Only the fate of the world on his shoulders is enough for him to even consider marrying the prince. So, I'm feeling for Ryan too right? These two men struggle to come to terms with their new life (well, Ryan struggles to come to terms, Mikos struggles to get his mate on the same page as he is about becoming the father of his children and the love of his life) and then thing get interesting. I know, right? Like they weren't interesting enough? Nope, that's just the beginning of their story and it's quite the ride!I've always loved stories with court intrigue, suspense, tons of angst and drama and this one ticked ALL of my boxes for this trope! Shannon West has created a great universe and I can't wait to read the rest!

I liked it but I didn't love it
I liked it but I didn't love it. The way Mikos broke Ryan's trust was horrible. Never once giving him the benefit of the doubt and then wants to come back and just act like it never happened. Lame. The way Mikos just went in with his "I'm the boss and your coming back with me cause I say so" attitude and then Ryan just goes back to things as normal. Lame. It's not a bad book I just hate when a story is so lopsided and forgiveness is just given so easily. Don't get me wrong I'm all for forgiveness but not when someone is so wronged and the other person just says oh sorry and that's the end of that. I'm not sorry I read it but it just for me.

Awesome Thank You
I read a previous book of yours and it was good and fast. Had quite a day and it was totally what I needed. When I looked you up and saw this series wow did it take a while to find book one but I’m glad I did. I read it in a few hours and loved every moment of it. The politics, rationales, conflict, intensity, culture, customs, devotion, quotes, everything was well thought out. From the world systems to how they were traveled. This book is great. Now time to quickly get the house in order before husband gets home and gets moody without his Saffron beverage ready =P

The Land of Tygeria!!
I liked this story and I did not stop reading until I was at the end. Prince Mikos of Tygeria and Col Ryan Donnelly of the Alliance are forced into a marriage in order to bring an end to a deadly war. This only occurred because Ryan's sister ran off the day she was to marry Mikos. Mikos tries to be honest with Ryan from the very beginning and to also be open and forth coming. Moving to a new and different planet with different customs and practices takes time for Ryan to adjust, but he had Mikos's younger brothers who very helpful. Both Ryan and Mikos wants an end to the war so their people can stop dying. However, not everyone is happy with this union or ending of the war. The Alliance Resistance makes plans to wreak havoc and to continue the war and break the peace treaty. Mikos and Ryan must learn to trust each other if there will be any hope of a future for them. The conspiracy to destroy the peace treaty and their union comes from every side. The author did a great job of keeping the suspense and keeping you on your toes as you try to figure out who is involved and what will happen next! I really liked this book and I like the planet Tygeria. I look forward to reading the future installments of this series.

Awesome!!!
I am a huge mmpreg fan. This book hit all my check boxes. Fantastic world building, deep state intrigue, VERY hot sex with tall, alien panther shifters. I can't wait to start the next book in the series.

This novel was a great surprise. I thought is was an interesting premise that a prince from another world could fall in love with a sworn enemy from earth. That is exactly what happened and to my delight it was a needed relationship to put an end to a war that was raging for far too long. Ryan and Mikos are beautiful as is there complicated bond. You won't be disappointed with this one!!

Thumbs up, a favourite read
This is my first foray into sci fi genre books and it has certainly set the bench mark. This is the story of mikos a tygerian Prince and Ryan who is human and an alliance army captain. The war has devastated the alliance and many casualties on the tygerians side that they want to bring peace after so many years warring and what better way than through marriage. Tygerians are mostly attracted to males and when the consuls daughter who was supposed to be marrying mikos runs away its left to the the brother Ryan to make things right. Predominantly straight he's adverse to marriage but agrees, to bring peace. They fall in love but enemy's behind the scenes who don't won't peace are willing to destroy their happiness with attempted assassinations, kidnapping and to destroy the symbolism between the two warring forces their unborn baby. I loved the originality of this story and the sassy lovable characters especially Jake, mikos father and husband of the king. A must read.

Liebenswerte, manchmal etwas anstrengende Charaktere ;-) :-)

Not my cup of tea
I wrote a really stinking review for his, the sample was promising but then after I bought it it was just rubbish, I mean, the colonel went from, 'no way,' to desperate slut in a hot second and it was like whiplash and just tired and boring, nope, I hated it. I gave it two stars for making me part with over £4.00 but then Amazon gave me a refund, easily, immediately, and I decided to come back and not be mean. The writing style itself isn't that bad, the story line could be better later. It could be your thing, if you can get past the first few chapters, I don't know, I didn't.
