My Lil'sis loved this. I actually was searching for a stainless steel one so it would last a long time. And my sister's favorite color is purple so it worked out lovely for a give. The size is about 1/2" long or slightly less. It is good for a 21 to 24" chain. The chain is not worthy and I did at the same time order a stainless steel sturdier more accommodating one to go with the excellent quality of these hearts. I like the modern style too as my sister is in her mid-thirties but these hearts also have the feel of inner child!
