Best coffee I've ever had.
I have a confession to make, I don't drink coffee. My beverage of choice is red wine and bourbon. Some might say that I am a connoisseur of both. I've tasted wine in all of the world's major wine regions and many of the lesser known ones. I toured Kentucky and eastern Tennessee twice simply to taste bourbon. Why am I telling you this? So you may know that my palate has had some practice at knowing a high quality beverage when it meets one.Why am I not a coffee drinker? In short, I've never found it that interesting. At least not until I had a glass of La Fortuna Medium roast. I did so at the urging of a Hinsdale local who was insistent. I acquiesced and ended up having a born again experience with coffee. It sat on the tongue like a fine glass of aged Burgundy. I was shocked. So many different flavors were exploding onto my tongue (e.g. cinnamon, clove, must, pepper). I had never had a coffee have that effect before nor have I since, except when I have another glass of La Fortuna. Cold or hot process, both amazing. Do yourself a favor and pick up a bag (or two) and find out for yourself.
