Very expensive for what it is but my child loved it.
I would like to point out that my daughter would give this item a 5 star review, she loved the process and loves the teddy, however, as an adult, who bought the item and who helped in the process I am giving it a 2 star review.Scruff-a-Luv is an abandoned animal, there are 3 varieties in each colour (a rabbit, cat or dog) and 3 colours (pink, blue and purple). When you open the box you are greeted with a ball of fur with eyes. There is an information booklet which says that the animal has been unloved and abandoned and needs to be treated with love and affection to bring it back to health. You're meant to bath the animal, dry the animal and then brush it and love it. There is an adoption certificate in the box too for a keepsake, a bow, brush and collar with a name tag (where you can write your chosen name). You can bathe the animal in warm water using baby shampoo (if you wish, water alone is fine), washing the ball until it opens up into an animal with scruffy fur. You are then to dry the animal using a cool hairdryer or a spin cycle in a washer, or tumble drier. You are then to brush out the tangles and love the teddy.I have a few problems with the item:1. You cannot choose which animal you're going to get. My daughter wanted a dog, and ended up with a rabbit. Not the end of the world, but I cannot now buy another one for Christmas and ask for a dog, instead it is a case of you get what you get. I think parents should be able to choose the animal, even if it remains a surprise for the children.2. The teddy doesn't go anywhere near as neat as the adverts show them too. My daughters after washing, drying and brushing is still very much scruffy looking!!!3. You have to have a hairdryer or a tumble drier. Now most people will have one or the other, but I happen to not. I have wet to straight hair straighteners which I use to dry my hair or I air dry, and I line dry my clothes. This meant I had to borrow a hairdryer from my neighbour or the teddy simply wouldn't have dried sufficiently.4. The cost of this item is shocking for what you get. At the end of the day, this is a teddy. It is not a large teddy, and it isn't fantastic quality as you would expect from a teddy of this cost. And once you have washed and loved the teddy once, that's it really. You're left with a teddy bear. There is something I do like about the item. It gives children an understanding of pets being abandoned and adopting rescue pets as opposed to buying over bred breeds of pets, which is a nice idea as there are so many abandoned animals in animal shelters and with the RSPCA so this is a nice idea to make children more aware of animals who have been dumped or abandoned. As I mentioned above, my daughter loved the item and she would happily have another one, and to be honest i would probably buy her another, it isn't terrible, it is just a bit pricey for what you get and I don't like the fact you cannot choose what you're getting, with small £2 items which are "surprises" or "blind bags" this isn't really an issue, but for a £20 toy, I think this is a bit disappointing and I don't really see the point in the surprise element. All in all, I would recommend, just do not expect a lot for your money...don't bother spending over the RRP (some on here are selling for over £30 just because they are in the more rare colours of blue and purple!)

Awful disappointment
I didnāt even want to give this 1 star. Very very poor quality, collar missing. We have followed instructions and you tube videos and it still looks awful. My poor little girl was desperate for one of these, Iām angry I wasted so much money on it!

disappointing toy
How can u give more stars than one , I donāt know, if I had seen this teddy in a shop I wouldnāt buy it, it is that bad quality! We washed it twice hoping that it would get more fluffy, but it didnāt!Every time spent 20 min hairdrying; frustrating; and no it didnāt get any better, looks really scruffy whether you brush it or not, hair is too short for the clip and teddy is small just a bit bigger then my palm, and flimsy. Enough to say that even my 6 year old was deeply disappointed, it just looks nothing like the cute images with big eyes on the box and advert. So, so disappointed, and do not recommend.Honestly, Ā£20 for that! And why

NOT GENUINE
It took over 4 weeks to arrive and when it did could tell with the graphics on the box (which was battered) that it wasnāt a genuine scruffaluv opened it and was nothing like the ones Iāve seen on youtube it wasnāt in a ball itās was already opened out and could tell which animal it was and it hasnāt come with a brush. DO NOT BUY

Not worth the money. First one melted while drying.
Bought as a replacement for the blue one NOT BOUGHT FROM AMOZON photograhed after it melted while drying (following instructions). These toys are approx £20 each. In all honesty they are not worth the money. Small, understuffed and cheaply made 'teddies'. My daughter does love them though so I guess that the purchase is worth it. The box does make them look far cuter and fluffier than they actually are. They look like the cheap tat you buy on the seafront at Blackpool. Note the repair I did on her blue lion which she bought with her birtday money. I bought the orange cat replacement.
