Our High Altitude Andean Blend combines organic, Fair-Trade beans from small farms and cooperatives in the high Andes region of Peru, Bolivia, and Colombia. As the beans from each source have their own distinct characteristics, we roast them separately for optimal taste. The result is a consistently delicious cup of coffee with smooth chocolate overtones and bold earthy flavors.

Fabulous! I need more!
I got my first bag as a gift and oh what a nice gift it was! My first cup, after feeling a lil extravagant and adding a drop of agave and almond milk, it almost tasted like mocha. It was so rich and smooth. I also have it black and there's no bitterness to it. In fact, most of the time, it's so good, i don't want to ruin the flavor by adding sweetener or creamer. After my stash ran out, I bought 3 more bags and gave some to friends to try. They liked it too. I just ordered again. I'm super excited to have a new brand. I love this coffee.(Disclaimer: I'm a coffee snob of sorts. I like my coffee: strong, black, organic, rich & smooth. I only got to chain coffee shops out of desperation during the day. I've tried health food stores like Whole Foods, it wasn't up to my par at least. I also use a French Press to pull out full flavor. [I think I need a cup just b/c I'm writing this!]).

This is some fantastic coffee. I was a little skeptic at first with it being wood stove roasted and the compostable bag but this is really good. It has flavor but is smooth. This is going to be my go to coffee from now on. I am going to brew some more as soon as I am done writing this review. Overall this is a real winner!

Discerning coffee lovers that demand a good value will love this coffee
Discerning coffee lovers that demand a good value will love this coffee. I hand-ground the beans fine and drip-brewed them by the pot, finally settling on 'strong' as the correct way to brew it. This 'high altitude Andean' coffee is clearly not Colombian or Central American; Peru and Bolivia are my best guess. The roast is a little lighter than French, but the lively beans shine through the slightly shy of dark enough roast. You are not going to have one of those "Ah, now that's Sumatra" moments. The coffee is not so much about personality, like a Kona or Sumatra. But this Oakland Coffee Works bean stands tall in its centrist characteristics; this is a superior brew, and an enjoyable one.The 'wood oven roasted' claim on the package is irrelevant. I detected no difference due to the wood ovens. In fact, nothing written on the package is of any interest. All you need to worry about is: The beans are lively and aromatic. The roasters missed the ideal roast by a whisker on the light side. The value is outstanding for a connoisseur.

Delicious
Very smooth, that slight nutty taste that some coffees have, zero bitterness, no acid on the tongue... Just about the best cup I've had in a while.

Good
This was good- but I expected fabulous. I definitely enjoyed the coffee, but I enjoy other, much less expensive brands equally.

Low acidity, great taste!
I can drink this coffee all day long! It is so smooth with no bitterness--a much needed break from the high-acidity premium coffees that are popular these days. And a compostable bag?? Genius! Will definitely be ordering my second bag soon.

Coffee, coffee, coffee
Great coffee. Tried it for cold press in french press and did not work well. Used in the Toddy and it was superb.
