The Camcon Shemagh, also known as a keffiyeh, is a wrap-around head covering that is essential for protecting eyes, nose, mouth and neck from sun, wind and sand. They are commonly used by special forces worldwide. Methods of wearing the shemagh vary, but wrapping the scarf around the head and face provides optimal protection from the elements. Please Note: Actual color and shading may differ from swatches shown due to printer calibration and other settings. These swatches are meant to be as close to the actual product color as possible. Kind of waffle weave texture in center, well made
It's a solid color but is woven in a pattern. The un-knotted sides have textured strips of different widths in a symmetric pattern. Some thiner parts single weave & some thicker parts double weaved with long looping darn like stitches that make the double parts feel a bit waffled. Time will tell if the loops will catch, some are 1/2" long or so.These are really 100% cotton, I hand washed it in cool water in evening & in a.m. still quite damp left to drip dry but now 24 hours after washing it's dry. The poly/cotton blends are dry overnight but don't feel so good. After washing it measures 41" x 42" & is a good size to completely wrap the head & neck down to the shoulders without skimping. It's not super soft but it's soft enough to be very pliable & comphy. Not fashionable but functional. It's a keeper.I just wanted to add that if softness is important to you then the Rothco lightweight Shemagh is softer. 4537 LIGHTWEIGHT SHEMAGH TACTICAL DESERT SCARVES I have the Foliage version & it's definitely softer with one cool wash for each make of shemagh. This solid sand one is just a bit more course to the touch but it does have the advantage that it looks less like a shemagh, being all one color.

Good and bad, but mostly good
The navy blue and red colors look great. The loosely woven construction makes it feel like linen, feels good to the touch. I can already think of multiple ways to use this over the conventional scarf and bandana. Good value for the money. Looks great too as a wearing apparel. I cannot wait to put this on when I ride my bike out in cooler weather. Minor gripe there appears to be machine lube stains on both pieces that I have ordered, which may or may not wash off. The subpar quality control is evidential, so be prepared to deal with loose threads. I would not feel comfortable running it through the washing machine. Despite the negatives, I like it and would not hesitate to purchase again after they give out.

Keeps You Warm!
The Camcon Shemagh Scarf, One Size Fits Most, Charcoal is one of my most used pieces of cold weather gear. Anytime the temperature dips below 45, I have my shemagh on my neck. I know a lot of people purchase these for pari-military reasons, but I use it for the warmth. I am not without this at work. If my ears get cold, or it is extremely windy out, I will pull it up over the top of my head. This is my second shemagh. I have a "dress" one I use other times. Keeps you warm!

Nice lightweight woven fabric.
I was happy that this was a light weight woven fabric, as I have heavier lines for winter. The one I received was damaged, with some kind of black on the edges and a large snag/hole in the scarf. I wanted to exchange it, but it says you have to have a printer to do this. I don't blame the seller, so my 5 star rating is for outstanding customer service, including very fast shipping.

Very Low Quality
Living in Arizona I've found shemaghs to be very useful items. They're much better protection from sun, sand and wind than any hat can match and have a variety of other uses - like immediate damp compresses in first aid situations stemming from overheating. One thing I didn't like was the vast majority of manufacturers only offer them in the traditional two-tone checkered pattern. When a friend pointed out Proforce had single color options, I was quite pleased and ordered one each in the "sand" and "foliage green" colors. They were marginally more expensive than some manufacturers', but given their "tacticool" marketing that was to be expected. From the moment they arrived my pleasure with the products ended. The "sand" was actually a quite bright goldenrod and the "foliage green" was a medium grey with no green in the color at all. The material was incredibly flimsy. Shemaghs are supposed to be light - after all, they're intended for desert environments, but these were nearly gossamer. I'm fairly certain if I gave the material an overly strong tug when cinching the knot I could tear a strip clean off. My other shemaghs, while light, are much better woven and strong. In addition to the not-as-depicted colors, the dye jobs themselves are of very low quality. I left the "foliage green" one in the back seat of my car for one day and found it to have significant spots of sun fade to a very light red in places. For comparison, one of my traditional shemaghs sat in my back seat for months with no sign of fading. So: 1) more expensive than some others, 2) inaccurate color representation, 3) very low-quality material and 4) low-quality dye/dye process. I can't recommend this supplier at all.

Protects Your Face From Sun!
Its very comfortable to wear around the head. Comes with instructions on how to clean the shemagh. Along with how to wear it. Perfect for the face and neck to keep the sun away from your skin. It can be used as a bandana as well. Just be aware its a super thin material shemagh. I use it for cosplay more than for everyday use or airsoft.

You would think an item intended for roughing it would be more sturdy.
Bought for my son, he already had a green one from a prepper store in our area. Washed in washer and there were strings and lint everywear. The item tied itself and the 2 other items in the washer into a big ball of yarn. You would think an item intended for roughing it would be more sturdy.

but it didn't seem like I could wash it without falling apart
The edges were very unfinished and maybe that's how it's supposed to be, but it didn't seem like I could wash it without falling apart.

Buen shemag

Lastima
