This power bar senses power being turned ON in the "master" plug-in device to turn ON power for up to 5 "energy saver" plug-in devices. You can split one "energy saver" output to provide many more devices as your application requires. The idea is instead of keeping multiple devices in standby mode all consuming power that adds up quickly, use one "master" device to turn ON power for all the remaining devices. An example of where this can save you lots of energy cost is if you have a media center with multiple power consuming devices like large screen TV, Audio/Video Receiver, power amplifiers, DJ controller, gaming console ...etc, you can use your TV to turn ON all of the other devices at the same time using this power bar. A very simple idea, but this power bar has the potential to save you lots of money over time.

I bought 3 with high hopes due to the reviews and was disappointed to go through so much work trying to get it to work with no success. I hate that there were no directions to help trouble shoot. Waste of time and money, do not buy.

I purchase this for my home Stereo System. Due to the number of components there was not enough receptacles on the Main power Amp,and some of the components had 3 prong plugs and the Main Power Amp on excepts 2 prong. With this Power Strip I can connect all the 2 prongs to the Main Power Amp and connect the 3 prongs to the secondary plugs on the power strip and then plug the Main Power Amp in to the master plug. When I power the Main Amp all components power on, when I power off the Main Amp (with a delay on 30 seconds) all components connect to the secondary turn off. It work, but I question how long will this work, let me explain. I have doubts that this functionality of master / slave will continue to work, the documentation is horrible, as there is a sensitivity switch (high/Medium/Low) which the manual says nothing about or even detail what it's function is, this leads me to question the reliability of the product. That is a big question that the MFG covers no where in any of the documentation or on their website.Would I recommend this product, I am on the fence with that, it works as advertised, but the documentation and items on the unit not explained make me say this, buy it at your own risk.

It works just as described. Used successfully in home theater application - when receiver is turned on/off, the external subwoofer and external amplifier follow accordingly. At around $15, this is an unbeatable value.

Was looking for a device that would disable outlets based on device power usage. First of all, these devices go by a few names and they are hard to find on Amazon. I was looking for a device that would disable my Roku 4k when the tv is off (my roku was getting too hot while in standby mode). This was the first energy saving power strip/ surge protector I bought and honestly I was not expecting it to work as well as it does. I was wrong - it does exactly what is advertised and the power is shut off to the roku in abt 5-10 seconds after the tv is off. The power comes on to the roku within a couple secs after the tv is turned on. Really happy with the purchase and would buy again.

I'm using this surge protector with my home audio system. I have various component connected to the system that must be energized separately (e.g., a phono pre-amplifier, a powered subwoofer, a powered FM antenna, etc). I'm always afraid that I forgot to manually turn off some component after I'm done using the system. With this surge protector I don't have to worry since all components are automatically de-energized after the receiver is turned off. I'm ordering a second one for my PC.

Really liked this product, I bought this after trying to use a Greenlite 7 port surge strip, but could not handle the surging. the Maxlite has an adjustable surge setting that solved the problem. It made everything work well together.
