This is “SMOOTH” newsprint regardless if the picture posted.

Q: The title says smooth, newsprint paper but the picture shows rough surface. Is this a smooth surface pad?

It is a smooth surface. I do not recommend to buy this one.

Q: Would the rough texture be good for oil pastels?

It’s too soft a texture for pastels. This is more for sketching and charcoal.

Q: Does it becomes yellow over time?

Similar to nostalgic ikea paper

This is a great product! I needed it for my college art class! I didn’t stay in that school but have been giving the papers to my kiddos to draw and paint freely on :) they are like the newsprint at the end of an ikea checkout!

Arrived super fast -- right in time for my first ever drawing class. May not have any talent, but am totally prepared with my newsprint sketch book (thought newsprint referred to my daily newspaper -- a lot to learn)

Good packaging, no damage

Great packaging, lots of cushioning and not a dent in the pad. Newsprint is a little bit thinner than what I was looking for, but that’s on me for not checking.
