A Jewish Celebration

Not every Winter Holiday is Christmas, obviously!This album adds a Hanukkah flair to the celebration. And it's not all kletzmer, though that is part of it!As is usual with the Putumayo compilations, there's lots of good music in a variety of styles, and it's great fun to listen to- on its own or in a mix.

I wish there were more songs with words, but what there was is delightful.

I just loved this - an eclectic mix of music from the Jewish tradition, & modern takes as well. A really good 'roots' mix.

herrliche Hintergrundsmusik .....

My wife got this for me for Christmas. We've listened to Putumayo CDs since they first came out. Many of those CDs were great. This one isn't. It's okay but there is nothing special about it. Personally, I think the company has tapped out when it comes to new products. Their original collections introduced the world to music of other cultures. Many of them were new and refreshing. Lately their CD's have lacked the same quality. Try some of their older stuff instead.
