clear Mylar heavy-duty material is also ideal for adding circles or "dots" to batter snare heads
I use a circle cutter to trim this clear Mylar material into circles or "dots", to be applied to brand new batter snare drum heads. Adding a "dot" to a batter head lowers the pitch at the center of the drum head, thereby resulting in a greater interval between the note produced at the center of the drum head and the note produced closer to the rim. This is of great value to Afro-Cuban drummers and timbaleros. Additionally, these "dots" make playing muffled rim "click" or cross-sticking patterns easier to play, since the fingertips are resting on the smooth Mylar surface, which makes it that much easier to pick the stick up from the drum head. Finally, adding "dots" to batter heads simply makes the drum head last longer.

GOOD LUCK?
I was expecting 14.8 x 11.6 or there abouts. I was intending on using it to cut circle DOTS for drum head centers. BUT since it is round......HOWdid you come up with (a) rectangular measurement(s) ???? Had I known it was round and not rectangular I would NOT have ordered and kept looking. Other than that I was able to get three DOT's for my heads. GOOD LUCK ??!!! Oh yeah,.....and the measurements did NOT match the packaging, cause' I tho't about that too. So don't shoot me for being dense. I checked all avenues prior to verbalizing in type.T-44
