(Posted 5/22/2017): I ordered two of these masks on April 24th, one for each of my children, to protect against pollen when outdoors. I decided to get these over the 3M N100 mask because my elder child is in school and I thought she would feel more comfortable and less self-conscious wearing the more colorful mask. Upon receipt, I decided to allow her to try the mask out for comfort, fit, breathability, etc. before opening the second canister. The two reviews, which were posted after I made my purchase, that mentioned that they run small are very true! It is also true that they do not fit securely onto the ears and even with a piece of elastic to try to secure it to the back of head, the fit is awkward, loose, and slippery over the nose and around the mouth, although I squeezed the metal strip around the nose. It kept slipping down and my child found it stuffy and uncomfortable to breathe in, and never wore it. I never bothered to open the second canister.Update (5/27/2017): The company replied to my review and agreed to fully refund or exchange the masks. Said they do have a 30 day policy (see their reply below). I agreed to try their newer mask with adjustable strap, also sold here on Amazon (read all the way through this review to gauge size before ordering). I contacted Amazon via chat, representative provided a refund. I opted to have funds placed on Amazon gift card, purchased one of the newer, adjustable strap masks in medium to try on both children. If the medium adjustable fits better, I'll get the second one for my other child and update my review accordingly.Update (5/31/2017): The medium, adjustable strap mask fit my 5 YO the way I think a mask used for this purpose should. It cups the chin well and sits on the nose where it should. One would still need to attach an elastic band between the two ear straps though, to keep it from slipping and falling off, which is fine with me; quick stitching with a sewing machine or by hand. On my 11 YO, it doesn't cup the chin as well, but it falls at a good place on the nose bridge. A large would have fit her better I imagine, but I will keep the medium. To the company, I would recommend increasing the length at least at the chin area, if not at the entire bottom of all sizes of these masks, to ensure a better fit. If ordering for an adult, I would not get any size smaller than the large. Order up.

I ordered this for use with pollen. I like it because it's so easy to hook around your ears, and it's not "hospital" looking. It's nice to carry in your purse to have it handy. Very nice purchase!

Colorful, but doesn't stay on the ears. Wouldn't buy again
