When mounted to thin metal, or in a horizontal application (ex. the side of a fridge or a toolbox), the strength of the magnetic hook diminishes about 2/3 due to shear forces. The hooks thread into the magnet base, and will arrive disassembled. Any correctly sized thread can also be threaded into the magnet base to customize your application.
